FFFC!

Flame-Free Friday Confession time, ladies! Haven't had this thread for awhile!!

Re: FFFC!

  • My FFFC is that I hate the baby name board. I get that people in general don't love weird spellings but most of the regulars on there love really basic names. Polls of "should I name the baby Michael or Adam?" Yawn. And they have this thing for really old names. If I said I'd name my baby Hattie Josephine or Mildred Imogene they'd be all over that shit.

That is hilarious, I actually love that board for those very reasons - if I met a baby Mildred I would think that was adorable. I also love "trendy" names too though - I love almost all names which is why it took us until the day LO was born to choose a name.

My FFFC is I sneak snacks upstairs to eat while putting away the laundry all the time - if my kids see me eating they want to share. I tease my DH that he needs a candy stash in the garage so he can eat in peace while "taking out the garbage".

I'm still in 100% momma bear mode. I know LO is almost 3 months but I still don't want anyone else carrying/watching her. Sorry, not sorry.
  • I went with my mom who is a Denver paramedic, to the chili-cook off, a huge event downtown... Everyone she introduced me to wanted to shake hands!! I felt so violated! I'm glad I had hand sanitizer cause I didn't want to touch my LO after shaking hands with a bunch of strangers!!
  • @n3na94 I was reading an article the other day about how people really shouldn't kiss babies because it can transmit herpes cold sores (gross!) which can apparently be deadly for babies. And the kisser doesn't necessarily have to have an active cold sore to transmit the virus. Good reason to be less accommodating and just say, "Please don't kiss my baby" right upfront.

Exactly! Even if they get upset! He's my son, but Im so glad I immediately took him and cleaned him. I later did ask her but my friend said it was only the cheek. Still no more kissing for my son.....!!!!! We are doing what's best for them! ;)
  • OMGSH! I want to get furious when strangers in the store touch my kid.... and when I give them a look, they say oh its ok I''m a grandma or it's ok I'm touching his feet. Hello! I don't know you, why on earth would it be ok to walk up to my buggy and touch my baby. People are crazy, if I'm shooting you daggers from my eyes, it's time to back off.
  • I'm purposely withholding my son from his "step-grandma" because she pissed me off and didn't come to his baptism celebration. (She claimed her HUSBAND needed a nap because he had to work that night.....SHE went to the movies with a friend instead)

She also refuses to follow the schedule my LO is on (feeds him like every hour and 10 minutes instead of 2-3 hours) and does everything backwards- how hard is EAT, PLAY, SLEEP-- he's fussing because he's NOT SLEEPY AND WANTS TO PLAY!....

If she wants to see him then she can drive her butt the 20 minutes to MY house.

My grandmothers name was Mildred. DH wouldn't let me name our baby Mildred--we named her Amelia. I call her Millie. DH calls her Lia.
