A few days ago we found out we are having a girl , and we're naming her Josephine Audrey. Can you please give me some ideas on nicknames? I thought it'd be Josie, but my husband doesn't like it. Thanks.

Josie is the most common I've heard. Jo, Fifi (which in MHO is bad), Sophie, Effie, and Fina.

  • I heard Fifi was a nickname, and all I thought of was dog name. Nms at all.
  • I like Jo, or Jojo. But my brother's name is Joe and it might get confusing.
  • I thought Josie immediately.

  • The only ones I'm familiar with are Josie, Joey/Joie, and Jo
  • Our LO is Josephine, we call her Jojo. I suspect the context of the conversation will make it clear whether you're talking about your daughter or brother.

Yeah, its pretty bad.  I work in the prison system and Fifi means something TOTALLY different there lol.

  • I love Joss (rhymes with boss) it's a name that might grow with her as opposed to Josie which is adorable (why doesn't your h like it, btw? It's so cute) which is very young sounding.
  • I love Joss although it may be a bit of a stretch from Josephine. I think Jojo is absolutely adorable. Also, I LOVE the name Josephine. Nice choice! :)

  • Thanks everyone, I think we'll probably end up with Jojo. Seems pretty well-liked, and it's one my husband mentioned also.
  • I know a Delphine that goes by Fina and I like it. I like Josie too though, and I think Joss is different but not crazy.
  • I like Fina. Automatically thought Seph.
  • My middle name is Jo.... just Jo... and I've spent 30 some odd years convincing ppl.it isn't a nickname.
Why not call her Josephine? My baby boy is named Joseph and we call him Joseph. .. well except when we are playing and.call him jojo... josie... josie bean ... jose... and a zillion other things.... ha ha

  • DH insists that Sophie can be a nn for Josephine.
