April 2016 Moms

Intro

Hello fellow April 2016 moms!  I've been lurking (and piping up when I couldn't restrain myself) for a couple of days and wanted to introduce myself.  I was pretty active on my first child's birth month board and am excited to try to be a resource for first-time moms since I benefited so much from veteran moms on my first board.  I'm closing in on 11 weeks and it still doesn't feel real--my daughter is just over one and we're still adjusting to the life changes she brought.  I'm a bit intimidated to imagine handling two under two but of course my husband and I are excited too.  We're waiting to tell family until we have our Harmony test results (I'm AMA) so I'm vicariously enjoying your charming announcements.  I look forward to getting to know everyone better!

@eastdurian I agree that 3 months in Singapore without my family would stink. I'm only considering it because DD will be 19 months, and I'm worried about whether I have the stamina to handle her by myself at 34 weeks through the 30 hour travel time plus about two weeks of brutal jet lag (we're 12 hours off, so day 1 she goes to bed at 6:30am, day 2 at 5:30am, day 3 at 4:30am). I have no good options! Sorry for the self-involved tangent OP!
@JadaBlue That's why we didn't come back to the States the whole time we were in Asia. I didn't want to deal with the jet lag, it might be easier to deal with that if you have family around though than 3 months in Singapore. Even though Singapore is gorgeous, how long is the flight to Singapore from where you're at? Would your other half be able to visit easily?

(Figured I could move here vs. keep the cruise one going)
  • Singapore is just a few hours away and my husband could visit a couple of times before the birth (he would stay after!). The big plus is I could bring my local nanny to help. We're going to follow your lead and also not go back until we're done if I don't medevac there. Lesson learned (the hard way-worst "vacation" ever!).
  • @JadaBlue I miss having a yaya!
  • Welcome JadaBlue! Singers would be nice to be at rather than this cold weather.
