So we are not yet trying to conceive but we had our daughters name picked out a year before we even started TTC and I honestly think that being sure of her name helped us connect to her so much more during the pregnancy.... we are thinking about trying to conceive again so its name time!
Our belief is to give a child their own unique first name that no-one in the family has had before but the middle name will be given in honor of another family member... for example, my daughters name was Accalia Suzanne. My MIL's first name is Suzanne..... My husband is a JR. and he hates it, he does not want to give a child his or his fathers name at all....
So a girl would have my grandmother and mother's names. We are thinking Alessa Kaye Virginia F. I'm pretty stuck with Alessa, it just feels right, but I'm open to other suggestions that would go with Virginia, Kaye or Sandra.
as for a boy... We are torn between a few first names, they are Auden, Dagan, and Greyer. The middle names would be my dad or grandfathers names which are Thomas, Dale, Roger, Charles, or Leroy.... preferably using two of those for middle names. (I know that's a lot of names but there was my dad as well his biological and adoptive fathers to consider)
Please be honest! I want opinions on all the names - I'm just so overwhelmed with options. Middle names are rarely used so I'm not really concerned with whether people think its a "cool" or "with the times" name. It's a family thing. But I would greatly appreciate some feedback on what truly sounds good together! Thanks in advance guys!
Re: mixing new and old, what sounds best?
As for the first names, they are not my style at all. Your girl name seems ok, like a more unique version of Alyssa but still sounds nice and like a real name (just googled and it is a nickname for Alessandra?). But the boy names all get a "no" vote from me.
Dagan is confusing. I've never heard of it and don't know how to pronounce it. Greyer is like the trendy name Grey, but worser.
Virginia Kaye would work.
ETA: I don't like any of the boys names. Especially greyer... Like, more grey? Nope.
Alessandra it is! Thanks guys!
