bleeding again 3 weeks postpartum

a week ago my lochia stopped having blood in it and changed to a thick discharge and I got to switch from maxi pads to panty liners. well Sunday I was three weeks pp and Tuesday I started having small amounts of blood on my panty liner. now today (wed) it's getting heavier and is bright red. I'm breastfeeding so I don't think it's my period quite yet but I'm a FTM so idk for sure. I haven't been doing anything strenuous the most I've done is gone to the mall. anyone else start bleeding after they stopped?

No but I'm 3 weeks PP and the bleeding hasn't stopped or lessened at all yet. It's not much, usually just spotting on the pad and some clots in the toilet when I pee, but it's pretty consistent. I can't wait to stop bleeding. I hate wearing a pad. I had placenta previa bleeding and was in the hospital a month before giving birth and wore pads that whole time then too. I'm so over it!

I just had this happen to me yesterday morning. I haven't bled since a few days after getting home from the hospital. I will be 3 weeks pp tomorrow and woke up with heavy bleeding yesterday. So heavy I was scared and called my dr before hours. They sent me to the office as soon as the opened and did an ultrasound to see I have blood clots in my uterus. They said to take it easy, take Motrin and drink plenty of fluids. It's lighted up but I'm still waiting on the clots to pass.

2 weeks pp and off and on bleeding. I'll start the day off with nothing but the more active I am it kicks back in for a bit then dies back down. I just wear a thin pad all the time.

I'm so glad you posted this! I'm 2.5 weeks PP and the bleeding had pretty much stopped. Last night, it started up again--it's pretty thick (not clots, but not liquid-y) and I got really nervous. Today I've been taking it easy and taking Advil--hopefully it'll lighten up again, but if not I'm calling the doctor too.

I'm 2.5 weeks also and had bright red bleeding. I haven't been taking Advil because I haven't had any cramping, should I be taking it anyway??

I'm 2 1/2 weeks pp and have had this happen too. My bleeding slowed to very light pink for a couple of days, but yesterday I started passing clots again and bright red bleeding. I guess my body just isn't done flushing all this out yet! I doubt it's my period; I'm breastfeeding as well. Hope it ends soon!

If it comes back to bright red bleeding you're probably doing too much.  I know that's probably not helpful advice, because it's pretty much impossible to take it easy when you have a new baby.  But try to get some help and do your best not to go anywhere or do much of anything at all for another week or so.  And definitely call & check in with your doctor if you have any large-ish clots.

I am 5 weeks pp and still have bright red bleeding and small clots. This is my third, so I have assumed it is taking my body a bit longer to heal this go around.
