Has anyone heard of this or practice this? How much do you add?
I googled this and have read that physicians in Italy and other European countries put extra virgin olive oil in with baby's formula when weaning from breastmilk and when starting to eat solids. It contains the same percentage of omega 3, omega 6, and linoleic acid that breastmilk fat contains which aids in brain development. It's easy to digest and helps with gastric functioning aka constipation. It helps in the absorption of vitamin D. And it helps lower total blood cholesterol.
What are your thoughts on this? I'm planning on emailing my pediatrician...
