shared nursery/parent's bedroom -- small spaces!

Hi! Does anyone have any small space nursery pics they'd be willing to share? I'm particularly looking for some ideas for those of us that need to share a room for awhile. We'll be in our closet-less one bedroom until the baby is 5 months old. Would love to see some ideas! I'll share ours so far, too.

  • We are doing this too but haven't gotten the crib yet. Will share photos once we do though! The rocker, when it arrives in 8 weeks, is going out in the living room
  • I don't have a photo to share, just want to say I love your dog. :)

  • Have you tried looking on pinterest?
  • We are going to have LO in our bedroom for a few months until night times feedings are somewhat consistent. I'm not worried about decorating the area or anything, I'm just using a pack n play next to my side of them bed. Our actual nursery is small as well, only 6'x8'. We're doing a crib/changer combo at one end and did an open closet wall with one tall but skinny dresser opposite of that.
  • I'm dealing with the same thing... Pinterest is your friend!

  • If it's just for five months or so have you considered a bassinet? They take up less room. With my first he stayed in my room in the bassinet for the first six months then went to his own room and crib.

Your dog matches your decor and I can't stop staring.

I think that's why I like the dog so much. Everything flows. The crib, the curtains, the bed, the dog. I enjoy looking at this room.
  • It's like a magazine.
  • Mine looks post-tornado and we have more space. The baby isn't even here yet.
    This is amazing.
  • We live in a granny flat, so we've found a way to split the room (with a bookcase in the middle) between the baby's space and our bed/space.

It works in the situation. Still going to do a bit more decorating to make bubs space more special for him.

My LO will be in my room for the first year before he will move to share a room with his preschool sister, until we can decide whether to add on to our home or just sell and buy a new one. Luckily we have a bay window to put his crib in. I haven't got it all set up yet, so I have no pictures.
  • We're in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment so the baby is shacking up with us too! We have 2 corners, one with the crib and the other with the changing table, so we're going to try and make it those areas really cute and separate by hanging some vintage Star Wars prints, adding a colorful rug, setting up our homemade Harry Potter mobile, and putting some vinyl decals of cute things (woodland creatures?) on the wall by the changing table.

I'll have baby in my room as well and I'm planning to have a crib and changer combo and for storage I'm using a cube organizer. I have the 9-cube organizer from target and I'm going to use the separate cubes to keep all of LO's things in a general area. I could have put LO's things with my clothes but I wanted to create a space that was just for LO.

ETA: our dogs could be long-lost twins!
  • Baby will be in our room in an heirloom cradle until crib is a better fit. Really just going to have the cradle. Everything else will be next door in the nursery.
  • I always just seem to use the rock-n-play in our room until I'm not doing so much of the nightly feedings. We are trying to figure out rooms as well due to an in-law living with us for the time being. I tried putting my other two girls in the same room but one is a terrible sleeper while the other one is amazing (and I refuse to ruin the amazing sleeper). So, I think what you have is perfect! It's easy, it looks good! I might actually steal the idea
  • We are sharing as well, since my 4th bedroom is my office. I work from home so I need my office more than I need a nursery. I also co-slept Witt my first two, so hoping to enjoy having her right here in our room! Once baby sleeps a little more at night, she'll be moved into her sisters room! Here's a pic of the "nursery " end of our bedroom. Don't mind my unmade bed!
