I thought the orange drink tasted exactly like the Hi-C you get at McDonalds (or used to) with Happy Meals. Like, I think McDonalds served glucola and marketed it as orange soda back in the day. It was good
I got the phone call this afternoon telling me my doctor wouldn't allow any alternatives once again despite my reaction the first time. I had read so many people who didn't even have a reaction to the 50mg of glucose for the 1 hour say the 3 hour was HORRIBLE, I didn't see the point in drinking it and having the same reaction or a worse reaction and not even making it through the 3 hours making the entire process a waste of time.
So I went with my only other option according to my lovely doctor, I'm being considered as having GD for the remainder of my pregnancy. No option to monitor at home, nothing.. he went straight to a referral to a dietician. I'm pretty livid about that, I happily would've taken it at home for 2 weeks (or whatever period of time) and THEN by all means tell me I have GD or not.

The dietetician may give you the tools to prick your fingers yourself, I had to go see one to get the prescription/tools. But only a 2weeks supply, and she did not lecture me on anything. Just explain her the situation when you meet her
Re: My Glucola Reaction. Me - 0, Glucola - 1. Update: I failed! :/
