Our baby will be 2 weeks on Saturday. She's been sleeping in Rock N Play and/or Pack N Play in our room at night. My husband has gone back to work and wants to transition her to nursery/crib. I'm very nervous because I know sleeping in room reduces risk of SIDS. When did you move your baby to crib or when do you plan to?
Re: Sleeping in Room
We are using his crib in his nursery for naps during the day so he gets used to it (and then I turn the monitor on).

I love having my babies so close!! DH works 3rd shift, so a lot of nights me and all the girls pile up in our room to sleep!! I love it! On the weekends DH doesn't work he lets the girls take their naps in the room with us!
I hope it doesn't come back to burn us either!!

We still co-sleep with our 19month old and LO will be going in a co-sleeper when he arrives. The current plan is to move DS1 to his room when he is about 2 though i'm fairly relaxed about this and Wont do it till he's ready.
We never planned to cosleep but ds1 just wouldn't sleep in a cot in our room and after trying everything for months were caved when he was about 8 months and let him sleep in our bed. Was the best decision we made and he has been sleeping for 12 hours ever since!
It's funny but they recommend keeping them in your room for at least 6 months but somehow what you hear is " put them In their own room at 6 months". I wasnt ready at 6 months and ds1 certainly wasnt. I woulc suggest doing what makes you comfortable as this is the most important thing. I also have a video monitor which reduces my anxiety when ds1 is alone in our bed.
I was never given a 6 month rule/recommendation. All I have heard was its easier to send then to their nursery when they are sleeping thru the night around 6 months. Which, the way my little man is sleeping, he'd probably never sleep thru the night anyway.
