**Warning: DC mentioned**
Hello,
I used to be on the IF board, and then the IF Vets board, a long time ago under the name patchen30. I was very active and had thousands of posts, but I have not been on in a couple of years. I forgot all my log in info and the email address I originally opened my profile with is no longer valid so I'm starting from scratch. I do not remember exactly the etiquette but please know that I am trying to be sensitive and hope that I don't upset anyone. I have a couple of questions and I know you all to be experts. My history is as follows.
TTC beginning in 2008
4 rounds of IUI in 2009 (all BFN)
3 IVFs in 2010, one w/ a m/c, the rest BFN
1 FET in 2011 that resulted in DS
1 spontaneous pregnancy in 2012 that resulted in another DS
I am currently pregnant with another spontaneous pregnancy and I'm very nervous. The first day of my LMP was sometime around Aug 14-16. I got a + OPK (or maybe it was ALMOST +, I'm not sure as I didn't test the next day) on Fri Aug 28. We BD on Aug 29. I got a BFP on Sept 14. I went in for b/w on Sept 17 and as they had nothing to base it on all I got was a call that I was pg, and they told me to come back Mon Sept 28. The call I got that day was that my numbers "looked great and were rising beautifully". I didn't ask for any info about my numbers b/c I know I would Google and overanalyze. I assumed I ovulated on Aug 29 or 30 based on the OPK. I went in for an u/s today, which would make me 5w5d or 5w4d. The RE said it was "exactly what he'd expect to see for 5 weeks"...when I told him I thought I was a bit more than that he just kind of shrugged his shoulders. He told me to come back in a week and a half for another u/s. I don't know how big the gestational sac was and I don't know whether he saw a yolk sac.
My questions are: a) if he saw a yolk sac, would I be able to see it on the u/s? I just saw what looked to be an empty sac. b) if he didn't see a yolk sac yet, would that be worrisome at 5+ weeks? c) if I had a + OPK on the 28th, BD on the 29th, would the 29th necessarily be the date we'd be counting forward from, or could fertilization have taken place on the 30th or 31st? I know much more about IVF where you know exactly when to count from b/c fertilization takes place on retrieval day.
I know I don't have a lot of info but I'm terrified to ask too many questions b/c I've been down that road before of information overload and I end up becoming obsessed and scaring the h*ll out of myself. I did it for 3+ years while trying to get pg w/ DS #1.
How does this sound to all of you? I'm just in that limbo, petrified stage...
