GTKY Houses

I am house hunting and am obsessed with them lately. So, I am going to do this week's GTKY challenge about houses. What would be your must haves if you were to move? I am debating between a house that is perfect/gorgeous inside with a small yard or a house that is ok with a larger yard. Decisions, decisions. At least this will keep my mind off of the IVF stuff for a while.

I was just telling my husband the other day that our next house absolutely must have 3 bedrooms (or two large bedrooms and a playroom or finished basement), a large yard, and 2 bathrooms. Everything else is negotiable. Right now we have two small bedrooms, a tiny yard, and one bathroom. A girl can dream...

Our current house must haves were minimum of 3 bedrooms, a master bathroom...My next house would still have those two things but also hard wood floors downstairs.  A more open layout and ideally a more modern kitchen.  We have a finished basement that I wouldn't want to give up now so that as well.

We're actually looking to move now and we want to stay in the city but in a slightly more older/tree-filled area. We are looking for 3+ beds, 2.5 baths, open first floor with enough room for our piano plus sitting area. I don't care about the yard but I really want a shaded porch that I can sit out on.

@blinkalish def go for the one with more yard. when we bought our place, i'll never forget what our realtor told us. "you can change the house, but you can never change the location/land".  you can't increase the size of the lot but you can re-vamp the house inside and out.

i would DIE for more yard. Southern California knows not that term "yard" unless one is a famous celebrity and can afford enough land for yard plus the insane water prices we are dealing with during the worst drought in history.  my next home will be a single family home, i am so sick of sharing walls in a townhome.

So we waited a while to buy this house, so if we move, I have a laundry list. 4+ bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms - upgraded, not stuck in 1979, massive amounts of closets, open floor plan, HW floors, 2 car garage, overhead lighting and ceiling fans in every room, inside the beltway with enough backyard to play in. 

We have some of those things now, but we also did a lot of fixing/upgrading that I don't want to do in a newer house.

I want an acreage so bad! A plus is a usable barn for animals. We found the perfect acreage with a barn, house sucks...but we can deal with it for a few years. Just waiting to be done with IVF to make any moves on it.
