Hi ladies,
Last month I posted that I had a wonky cycle (only 21 days). Well... it's basically happened again (24 days), only this time I did a little research (always dangerous) and realized that having so short a luteal phase could be a big problem. I hadn't ever really thought about the LP length, only focusing on my ovulation date in the past. My LP was 6 days in August and now 5 days in September. Now, I'm worried that my body is suddenly totally out of whack and that conception is going to be a real challenge.
I've read a few posts where women tried certain supplements to help lengthen their LP. Does anyone in here have experience with this? I've heard about using a B6/B12 supplement and/or OT progesterone cream, but what I have not been able to glean from the information shared is when and for how long one is supposed to take each. Some mixed information combined with a few scary warnings ("don't take it once you get pregnant or you'll miscarry!") have me worried to even try.
Anyway.... any advice would be great. I know there are loads of women who have experienced various fertility issues and that my small problem might be minor in the grand scheme of things, but I'm worried, probably just because this is all new information and I'm not sure what it all means yet!
Thanks in advance!
Re: Short LP advice
The best thing would be to ask your doctor what to do. I would think they could give you progesterone to delay AF, but they're the experts.

RE says the low egg count is likely causing my recurrent pregnancy loss. Less eggs results in more aneuploidy.

Now, like Carrie, she wants to push ovulation day a little forward as she says that CD10-11 is too early.
Last cycle was 25 days with a 14 day LP. Though that's not the norm for me as I have ovulated averagely on CD13 for most of the 20+ cycles I tracked.
Good luck and don't worry, it will be fixed!
Sorry for a million questions. The world of supplements is new to me, but the info you all have shared has made me curious!

This website has been such a great learning tool and guide for me. https://natural-fertility-info.com/progesterone-fertility-guide

I am in my 3rd month now doing OTC Progesterone Cream ( called NOW - I have used unscented and lavender) alternating sites. Dr. Lee has a lot of great suggestions on this website and I have cleared everything with my dr. If you want to follow a thread I started and continue to post updates to, I'm going to post another update now so it should show up in recent feed.
Good luck!! I'm curious if this works for us both!

Info on Vitex from herblore.com: Vitex is not recommended for use during pregnancy, simply so that the pregnancy hormones can do what they need to do naturally. For women who tend to chronically miscarry, Vitex is actually safe and beneficial to help support hormonal balance through the first trimester, thus possibly preventing further miscarriages. (No research to back this up.)
One thing that will make a huge difference is if you cook your food vs eating a lot of raw salads and smoothies. Lightly blanch or stream most veggies you eat, and if you do want a salad or smothie make sure its at room temperature vs straight out of the fridge or ice cold. Amd eat salads/smoothies mid day vs for dinner or first thing in the morning. Drink room temperature water vs ice water, or even better warm-hot water with lemon.
For most women following this way of eating will really positively influence our health, and for the cold type person this can make a huge impact in health an LP phase over time. This is definitely my presentation, and it has made a world of difference for me. Good luck!!!
So, my plan is to take the B complex, and start CoQ10 too, just for extra nutrition, and see if that helps to lengthen my luteal phase. If I were looking at a 5 or 6 day luteal phase, I would jump right to the Vitex with the B complex, but hoping to shift it without the herbs if possible. Progesterone sounds messy to me, I'm really hoping not to stick anything up my hoo-ha, and I'm being stubborn and holding on to my fantasy of making this a relatively natural process...
