my little tornado just turned 2 and 1/2 yesterday and we are 6 weeks along now. She still isn't fully potty trained and I'm starting to stress about all the things I want her to learn or have down as a routine by the time the baby comes! Any advice?
Nope. I'm in your same boat exactly. DD hates the toilet and screams I DON'T WANT TO anytime I just suggest the potty. She'll be 3 by the time this LO comes and I'm hoping my MIL is right that one day it will just click.

I have a 3yo and he's still working on potty training. Next May is long way off, so I'm not too worried about that kind of stuff yet. Our little ones will learn so many new skills between now and May!
I wouldn't push it, that will just make things miserable for both of you! You will know when she is ready My son is 2 and he has shown absolutely no interest in potty training yet. I'd love for that to happen before baby gets here but if not, no big deal.
My toddler turned 2 1/2 today, and I am also 6 weeks! She showed some interest in going potty and did great for like a week, but now it has gotten old and she doesn't want to try. Honestly, I am in no rush. You dont want to turn it into a power struggle. My oldest daughter woke up one day (at 2 yrs 8 mo old) and decided she was done with diapers. Maybe 1 or 2 accidents the first week, and after that not one, even overnight. They will let you know when they are ready. My oldest son needed a little push, so I bribed him with a new playdoh set and it worked like a charm. He was 3 though and preschool was starting, so he needed that little push. Try not to worry. We as parents have these ideas of when our kids should be mastering each skill and milestone, and guess what? They will eventually reach their milestones, but it will be in their own time.
I mentioned it on the other thread, but there is an Elmo potty training video on Youtube and free app that is awesome. My son just turned two and LOVES it! Also, we actually use pull ups as a reward. We have ones with Mater, Mickey Mouse, and Elmo. He only gets to wear one if he goes on the potty or else he has to wear a diaper "like a baby". He hates being called a baby and insists he is a big boy! And when he wears his favorite character, he can't get him wet or dirty. He is a clean freak so he takes it very seriously!
I was fortunate and potty trained both my girls very easily. I came home with new panties and told them the store didnt have any more diapers so they had to go potty like big girls or wear wet panties and that was gross. For nighttime i woke them up a couple times a night and put them on the potty the. Right back to bed and we were fortunate to not have any troubles. I think once you start you have to commit fully and just plan to not leave the house for a couple days... Then slowly go out for a couple hours at a time before any day trips are attempted.
Oh yeah. Pregnancy on toddler time Mine isn't potty trained but they grow SO MUCH each month I am sure it will happen before baby. I am not pushing it with mine. But that is just me.
My daughter will be 2 in less than a week. She has wanted to go on the potty a couple times, but mostly she yells NOOO when we ask if she wants to. We aren't pushing it....just waiting for her to make the first move!
