I'm a tea lover and have been dying to drink some tea and my baby (3 weeks old) is slightly gassy. She gets gassy at night especially.. Is it okay for me to drink chamomile tea at night to help calm her tummy? She is a BF baby
I drink it all the time. My 2 year old has been drinking it since before a year old also. I think some people do have allergies to it, but it is rare, and I highly doubt you are going to notice much of a difference positive or negative in your baby from having a cup of chamomile tea.
Honestly? the only thing I think that will really help gassiness in my experience is time, bicyling legs and possibly cutting dairy or other offending foods if there are any. Possibly changing your nursing position is that is contributing to air gulping (like if you have an overactive letdown or fast flow). I have never noticed a change by drinking chamomile nor heard of that helping.
