Formula question

so long story short... When I was pregnant I was dead set on breastfeeding no matter what. Well after many obstacles I exclusively breastfed until 8 weeks when my baby developed a dairy allergy. Come to find out she is allergic to dairy and soy formula so she was put on Nutramigen... Which has shown improvement but she still isn't back to normal. I think she needs an elemental formula but since we are on medicaid and the office I go to is tightly bound with WIC I feel she won't prescribe it because of a money aspect ... Even though that should be no concern. So she says she will prescribe an elemental and then went back on that saying to try Allimentum first ( which is like the same thing) Should I switch pediatricians? I have a gut feeling she needs an elemental and this dr is making me try everything else before that.

Honestly, I would try it just so you can rule that formula out. Then, if they ask, you can tell them you have tried all possible options before moving to the more expensive option.
