Trouble TTC

Just reached my 1 year mark

so I have recently reached my one year of being of the birth control shot depo. I have very irregular period that either come twice a month or once a month for only 2 days at a time... I've been trying to conceive for the past year and just wondering if it is time to see a doctor about fertility..

Re: Just reached my 1 year mark

  • Yes, it is. It's time to make an appointment with an RE (reproductive endocrinologist aka fertility specialist). I'd jump right in with an RE and not waste any time with an OB. This will also ensure the proper testing is done before starting any treatment. Your OBGYN should be able to give you a referral. Best of luck to you!

  • Yes, I agree with going straight to the RE, the OB can't do much. The RE will immediatly start helping. Good luck!

  • @mrsBaird2b I would say so. Get some labs and checked out, SO included. Whether you have a diagnosis or not it would be good to have answers! Lots of luck.
  • @mrsBaird2b switching to a RE has been a great decision for me. I have never been so informed before as I do with my Re office. My OB has been nice through the years as I've been casually TTC, because honestly I didn't think I would have had a problem getting KU. I love having more knowledge of what is going on with my body each month and knowing my chances based on the tests they run. I never had that with OB. Still no BFP, but at least I feel like I'm giving it all I've got.
