Honestly you should worry about it when you get the results. It's not that hard to deal with. A lot of it is diet and exercise related. There are medications such as Metformin, other oral meds and insulin. It just depends on what's your body needs. I'm a type 1 diabetic. It sucks but its not as hard and horrible as many make it out to be. Extra maybe 10 mi utes out of my day checking my blood sugars and giving myself insulin.
I developed gestational diabetes at 32 weeks. It was a bit of a learning curve at first, but I've found it pretty easy and manageable.
Also I've been eating so well, and exercising most days and I feel absolutely fantastic.
The diet itself is really just good, healthy eating: lots of vegetables, moderate amounts of protein, moderate amounts of "good" carbs, but what that looks like for different people will depend on how their blood sugars respond. eg. my dietician gave the general advice of 12 portions of carbs a day, and spread them out so that each meal has 3 carb portions, and then three snacks including 1 portion of carb, but I worked out pretty quickly that my body prefers two portions of carbs at each meal and snack from lunchtime on.
Also I can happily have fruit at breakfast time or as a snack, but not with my lunch or dinner. Who knows why, it just is what it is.
Anyway, I agree with pp that don't worry about it, until you get diagnosed with it. If you do develop it, you should get lots of advice and support from the relevant sources.
