We are on a roll. Thank y'all for participating and bringing BOTB to life!
Today's GTKY question is: What is your favorite thing to do where you live?
Dallas has a lot to offer. There is literally something here for everybody. My husband and I love patio seating and brunch. In the south, you just can't go wrong with either - of course weather does play a huge factor for the patio aspect. So once a month we indulge on a morning date, and it is spent trying out different, non franchised owned, restaurants all around Dallas. You just can't go wrong, ladies. Mimosas, Bloody Mary bars, morning beer - it's all amazing.
Here it's celebrating carnival, but that's only once a year. But I love going to the cinema here instead of one of the other towns. It's a little cinema (max 5 movies at the same time). It's never crowded so you can sit where ever you like and hardly ever anybody is sitting in front of you. And we love going to the movies.
Cedar Point!! I love boating on lake Erie, going out to eat in Cleveland (I'm patial to Akron tho...) And enjoying each season I'm interested in seeing what the other Ohioans say that are on here
@RachelT1234 my H is from NE Ohio and talks about Cedar Point all the time. He's like, "let's make it a road trip." We live in Dallas lol.
A favorite is hard to come up with, because I love where we live. DS loves the Texas State Fair, which is coming up. I also love going to concerts downtown.
Seattle has a bunch of Farmer's Markets. All over the city and in surrounding areas. They take place on different days of the week. Some are seasonal (since you know... rain...) but some are year round too. And I love going to the market to just wander around.
I love our neighborhood. All of the homes are cape cod style and built in the early 1950s so there are lots of beautiful mature trees. It's centered around a quaint little shopping area that has pretty much anything you'd need. Our little nook in the city has a lot of charm and character and I love just walking the streets during the different seasons. The houses are pretty small so people are starting to tear down and rebuild since it's such a desired area in which to live, but they are pretty stringent on the style of home allowed.
DH and I just moved to the panhandle of Florida a few months ago so we like to try small restaurants along the coast. They always have the best seafood and views of the Gulf! We're both from the Chicago suburbs so the views down here are breathtaking every single time that I see them! Neither of us care too much for the actual beach so we stick to places along the beach that keep us off the actual sand

H and I went to Seattle last year for the first time. We LOVED it there. We walked around the markets every morning
@RachelT1234@cjt121413 I used to go to Cedar Point and Soak City every weekend! I love Lake Erie so much.
Now that I'm in FLA my favorite thing is to walk the beach with my husband. Love to walk by the ocean! Although swimming in it still scares me a bit! So many creatures...
Im kinda dorky and absolutely LOVE our metroparks out here in NE ohio. Awesome for trail running, hiking, walking, picnics you name it. I also love art and the cleveland museum of art has a fantastic permanent collection and fun events to go to all the time. I could go every month but DH is okay with a couple times a year lol. I used to love cedar point but dh also isnt big on rides and most of my other friends arent either so i havent gone in a long time either-id love to go for halloweekends coming up! Mmm kettle korn
DH and I love to go hiking and camping. We spend a lot of time outdoors when the weather is nice. There are tons of trails in Ohio and some great camping sites! In our little area we have the US Air Force Museum. We usually go once a year. I just love the smell of the buildings.
@MotherOfDucks Seattle is one of the places I can't wait to see!
RachelT1234 I LOVE CEDAR POINT! I live near Dayton so I go to King's Island more. Can't get DH on roller coasters so I haven't been able to convince him to go up to Cedar Point.
I have absolutely loved living in Manhattan for the past couple of years, with so much happening all the time. I love going to concerts, shows and plays, and hanging out in all the really cool restaurants, cafes and bars! I'm writing this from a coffee shop in Tribeca btw.
But all you guys talking about hiking and camping really makes me miss "home". I miss NATURE!!!
I live in a smallish town, so there isn't much excitement right next door, but we are within an hour from San Francisco, so there's plenty to do relatively close. 70 miles from the beach, 70 miles from the snow.

H and I are always hiking and biking around the metroparks! Maybe we are friends IRL?? Haha.
There is a lot to do in San Diego! But if I had to pick a perfect day it would include lounging under an umbrella at the beach in Coronado with my DH and our dog - sipping homemade sangria
Olympia is awesome for good seafood, amazing breakfast spots, decent farmers market and awesome brewpubs. We're also sandwiched between inlets and mountains so there's a ton to do. Hiking, camping, just heading up to the forest to go shooting. 3 weeks ago I was housesitting for my parents (they're on an inlet) and a pod of orcas went by. Nature central! Plus were only and hour and a half away from both Seattle a portland. I think we live in the perfect place!

Damn, I miss Seattle... sigh.
HookEmNelson and totally on the brunch train. Just food in general, I guess. I'm happy with food.
houston, tx. eharmony 7.3.11. married 3.7.15. oilfield wife.
I live in North Carolina, in the middle of the state basically. We are in the perfect location to go to the beach or mountains for a long day or a weekend trip. The leaves changing in the mountains is beautiful in NC in the fall. Breathtaking.
As far as something to do more on a regular basis, sporting events. We love to go to NCSU football and basketball games. We also like to go to minor league baseball games in Durham, Burlington, and Greensboro.
Saxapahaw is growing so much which is literally so close to our house. Farmer's markets, bluegrass and folk bands, the Haw River ball room for bigger concerts.
