Heartbeat theory

in May 2016 Moms
so I've heard different stories on if the heart beat is lower or higher then it will be a boy/girl... Does anyone know what is true to determine if it's a boy/girl off the heartbeat ?

    Girl- HB of 178 at 12 wk
    Boy- HB of 150 at 12 wk
    Boy- HB of 168.

    The old wives tale is if your baby's heart rate is above 140 beats per minute (bpm) you're expecting a girl. 

    That being said, it was way wrong with my DD :)
