Plus Size Mamas

Hey ladies! I am looking for a bit of insight. This is my second pregnancy but my DD is an August baby. I didn't need a ton of maternity clothes since I only got big after winter and could wear dresses and skirts. Do you have any recommendations for plus size maternity wear, especially coats? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Plus Size Mamas

  • When I was pregnant last wiBree I was so hot that all I could stand to wear was a light jacket. I'd look at Old Navy. I got all of my maternity clothes there.

  • Second Old Navy! They have sizes up to XXL in Maternity. Cheaper and more comfortable than Motherhood Maternity in my opinion

  • There is a really good maternity sale going on at old navy right now.

I'm dreading buying a maternity coat this time around! Like you, my daughter was born in September so I lived in dresses and maternity shorts.

  • I didn't even think about needing a coat - and I live in Texas! My DS was born in Oct so it was all summer wear last time! Thanks for the tip for Old Navy. I've got to get scrubs for work this go around (I teach pre-k3 at a different school and that's our uniform)
  • Thanks everyone!! Old Navy looks great! I got a pair of jeans at Target that fit great! They don't have work pants though so I will be shopping online at ON!!
  • I was having a similar question about plus size maternity wear.  Our Old Navy's maternity section sucks.  Saw it today and there were only three mannequins in there.  Two of them had on tank tops and the other one had on a dress.  That was all the maternity clothes they offered in that particular store.   And it was sandwiched in between baby clothes.  The people at our Motherhood store are rude.  I personally have not been in there yet, but one of my best friends went in there when she was pregnant and they flat out rudely told her that they did not sell plus size maternity clothes and that Sears carried their plus sized line.  Which turned out to be a lie.

  • Target has a decent section, could also check Kohl's and JCP online. I have a jacket still from Lane Bryant but I only use coupons there.

I actually went to Motherhood over the weekend. To my surprise they had a rather large plus size selection. I know they did not have it when I was pregnant with DD in 2013 so it must be fairly new. My Old Navy doesn't even have a maternity section. I had to order stuff online and pray it fit. I did have luck with Motherhood. I hope you do too!!
