No yok sac no fetal pole

hi ladies I'm extremely worried. I went for my first u/s yesterday at 5.6 weeks the tech said she saw a sac but, no yok or fetal pole just a sac. I did measure 5.6 weeks along and my doctor did call me and told me exactly what the tech had saw but, also said my hcg levels are more than doubling Amd are now well into 47,000 and my progestrone levels are at 23 he said I could be still too early to see anything. But, still I'm so worried. It's only 1 day till 6 weeks and with hcg levels that high I could of swore u could see something.

Re: No yok sac no fetal pole

  • I had an ultrasound at a similar time and they said they same, went back at 8 weeks and everything all ok! My doctor said that most pregnancies won't show that until 6-7 weeks so not to worry!

  • If your numbers are rising and they can see a sac in the uterus, you are probably ok.

  • Same thing happened to me with my son, they didn't see anything....a week later and everything was ok!

  • Did you have a transvag u/s or an abdominal one? When I had mine, they did the abdominal first, and the sac looked empty. Then after a transvag u/s, we saw everything very clearly. I wouldn't worry, though you will anyway :) Sounds like it's just a bit too early.

  • I had my ultrasound today also at 5 weeks and 5 days but only gestational sac showing with no visible embryo, I'm a little worried even though everyone says it's just too soon to see anything yet.
  • I went in at what I thought was 7 weeks and I ended up being only 6w2 days. I had a really really small fetal pole and a heartbeat and a yolk sac, if they didn't show me what they were seeing, I wouldn't have seen anything at all it was so small. BUT the ER doctor said a lot of women (a LOT) don't see anything that early. With levels that high, and more than doubling, I'd say you're fine! :) good luck!! I

This. 5 weeks 6 days is pretty early for an u/s, especially an abdominal one (I'm not having my first until I'm 10 weeks and the midwife said we might even have to go transvaginal then to get a better look).

I know it's hard not to worry, but like PP have said, it's totally normal not to see anything this early, and your numbers do sound good. You'll probably be able to see your LO in a couple of weeks. :)

I'm about 7 weeks but the dr also didn't see anything except a gest sac. I will know my hcg number tmr and again on Monday so hopefully my pregnancy is progressing. Good luck to you all!
