I weighed 125 before being pregnant I'm currently 21 weeks and I weigh 144, I've always feared weight gain and I'm fearing having this baby and not losing the weight
The best advice that people who don't know your unique medical situation is to talk to your medical provider. Every woman and every pregnancy is so, so different. Have you tried talking to your OB about your concerns? I'm sure they would be happy to discuss with you!
@tweek127 Its totally normal to be concerned about your weight gain during and after pregnancy. A lot of women worry about their weight. I'm not really sure that being young plays a role in that.
If your doctor isn't concerned I would not get too hung up on it. 19lbs and more than half way through really isn't too bad

Hi. I was you five years ago. I was terrified of the weight gain and what that would do to my appearance and what would happen if the weight didn't come off. Fast forward to now. The weight never did come off. I weigh as much now as I did at nine months pregnant. You know what? It just doesn't make as much difference as I thought. My daughter is four, beautiful and healthy. And it turns out that, no matter my weight, I'm still me and I'm so happy. Your weight is fine. Your gain is fine. If you lose the weight (or not) it is fine. Honest.
I have gained 45-50 with my precious pregnancies, on track to do it again. It came off within a few months without having to work all that hard for it. I feel like my body has a comfortable weight, and if I'm mostly eating healthy and being slightly active (and breastfeeding), my body finds its way back there on its own. When I increase the sweets or stop taking walks with the stroller, my weight loss stalls. But I've never had to do anything too strenuous to lose the weight.
At my last doctors appointment he told me that I have gained too much weight. I about cried...lol. I was 4 lbs over the "recommended" weight gain for how far along I was. I have been walking and started going back to the gym. I go back to the doctor on Monday so I will see what he says then! If the doctor is not concerned I wouldn't worry about it too much and enjoy being pregnant.

Same here. Your body is going to do what it wants to a certain extent. Control what you can by eating as healthy as possible and moving when you can. Let yourself relax a little about the numbers! I know people that gained 20 lbs and never lost it, I gained 60 with DS1 and lost 75 by 5 months afterward without much effort. I don't normally lose easily but breastfeeding was like a super weight loss miracle for me. Everyone is different.

I should add my doctor gave me the weight talk with both pregnancies. With this one he said it is most likely that my body just gains that much and since I've never had GD and he has seen me lose it all each time he is not going to be concerned.
The weight will come off if you want it to: ie exercise, healthy eating, breastfeeding. I gained 45 pounds with first baby and lost 50 within 5 months looking and feeling like me again. This pregnancy like you, I am nervous about the weight gain, but know that it is temporary! I started at 130lbs, I am 21 weeks and already have gained over 20lbs. I continue to live a healthy lifestyle- exercise (not as much as before) and clean eating but I still have cravings for junk and I am not afraid to eat it!! Don't worry just because you have a baby doesn't mean that you will not be able to lose weight, and I think that it is not just motherhood as others have stated.
The only time my.doctors ever said anything about my weight was when I gained 6 pounds in one week and my blood pressure spiked, and only because they were concerned about preeclampsia. I gained 30 pounds while pregnant, and was one of the lucky ones who lost it all quickly while breastfeeding.
