1st Birthday Party Ideas

First time poster!!  My son is going to be 1 in February and I am already looking into different and cool ideas for his birthday.  Our home is large enough to host the amount of people we will be having but I am looking for creative ideas that I can have at the party to entertain my son and our guests.  For instance, one friend had Detroit Tiger's Paws show up at her son's first birthday party and another had a Wally's Frozen Custard which included all you can eat ice cream and a cool fire truck that the kids could take pics on for an hour.  I am looking for something fun and creative like those ideas.  I am in Oakland County.  Any suggestions out there??
