UPDATE-Amnio this morning

So to update on my previous thread we went for our battery of tests this morning.

First there were 6-7 vials of blood taken. I don't know what the tests were as they were in French and I don't know what they are in English hah! After that I had the amnio... So the hospital where I go is a teaching hospital. Sure, I understand that doctors have to learn. Well I had to get poked twice. The resident couldn't get through the membrane. It wasn't pleasant.

After that we had an ultrasound with the pediatric cardiologist to double check her heart. Everything looks perfect.

Now we just have to wait a few days for the preliminary result of the amnio which will be a yes/no for downs. We're remaining positive, but still nervous.

So we got our preliminary results from the amnio and she has only 2 of each chromosome! This means she doesn't have Down's syndrome or any other trisonomy of chromosomes. This is a huge sigh of relief for us. Now the options are some kind of bone abnormality like dwarfism, my blood pressure is causing the placenta to work at less than 100%, or she's just a petite little lady. Thanks to everyone again for all the support and positivity. It really means a lot.

Oh are we ever. We also had a crapload of bloodwork done. We won't have the final results of everything for a couple weeks though. Next week we're going back for another ultrasound to check her growth. They'll be testing for dwarfism with the aminiotic fluid as well.

We still have some time before we know what could be wrong for sure, but we're pretty sure we can handle anything they throw at us.

Sending prayers. I know.what that is like I had it with my son. they felt it was a neural tube defect. which God willing he is OK there but now I must test throughout my pregnancy because I have an increased risk of preterm labor, small broth weight and even still born
hang in there mama !!
