I want to start trying again, but I am scared now.

I miscarried exactly one week ago today. I haven't had a period yet, but was told to use protection if I have sex.

My doctor's nurse told me that I am more likely to miscarry if I get pregnant again before 1-2 full cycles? Is this true?  I know everyone is different, but it makes me a little nervous to try again right away if I have a bigger risk of losing another baby if I do not wait.

When did everyone else try again ? Also, how long was it until that b*tch AF came after your miscarriage?

    I am so sorry for your loss. I had a MMC back in June and had to have a D&C. I would definitely heed your doctors advice about how long to wait before you try. They are the experts and while some may have been given the go ahead sooner, every case is different and your doctor will know best. My doctor didn't car so much about how many cycles but more the length of time since D&C, so I was given go ahead Aug 1st even though AF had yet to return. Regarding AF, sadly I am 12 weeks post D&C and still waiting. From everything I read it seemed she returned for a lot of people around 4-5 weeks, but again everyone is different it seems.

    I miscarried four days ago. I don't know when AF will come (I'm hoping soon. We want to try again.) but I did hear it can take longer if you had a D&C rather than naturally miscarrying simply because your since your body passed it naturally, it recognizes it quicker and can send AF sooner. I just heard that though so I don't know how much truth it holds or if it's the same for everyone.

    I am in the same spot as you!

    My dr suggested waiting until after my next period so I am going to follow that recommendation!!
    Hopefully AF arrives for us both soon!

    I had a d&c, so it might be different than having a natural mc, but my doctor told me to wait one cycle before TTC again. I didn't ask for details, but I think it has to do with the uterine lining being thinner after a mc. Anyway, it sounded more like orders to me than a suggestion, so I waited 1 cycle. AF has finally come (7 very long weeks after D&C!) and I'm finally ready to start trying again. Hopefully you won't have to wait that long!

    I am so sorry for your losses.I had my d&c in mis June. Got first AF 6 weeks later (5 weeks after bleeding stopped) and it was short and light. We were give the green light and started ttc after that first cycle. I got a second AF and it was more like a period. I am in the TTW hopefully it worked this cycle! Good luck to all!

    I haven't heard that it increase likelihood, but makes sense that you would want you me body to recoup. I've heard both ways! I would follow docs advice if you trust them with your care. I'm planning to give my body one cycle to flush out everything and then give it another go. My doc suggests 1-2 cycles based on how I am feeling about the whole thing. Good luck!

    We started trying this month after I got my first af post d&c in July. af came 32 days after d&c. My dr also suggested I wait to try again until af returned.

    I am sorry for your loss.
    The doctor I saw on the day of my miscarriage said they only ask you to wait for AF for dating purposes.  At my follow-up, I saw my regular OB, and she strongly encouraged waiting at least one cycle.  She said it could be fine, but thinks it's better for body to shed lining one more time.

    First off I'm sorry for your loss! For me this was true. I had a early mc in June and then wanted to try when i ovulated next, I ovulated about 2-3 weeks after the first mc and ended up getting pregnant and had another very early mc. The 2nd time was much harder for me then the first. If i was you I would really wait until you get your period once or twice. They say 3 months. Good luck with your decision.

    I miscarried at about 6 weeks and had a natural miscarriage. I bled for about a week and when I went for my ultrasound I had passed everything and they said I could try again as soon as I felt emotionally ready. Me and my husband started trying a few days after the bleeding stopped and It's been about 4 weeks since the miscarriage and I'm feeling pregnant again. We miscarried on September 11th. Ironic right?
