Job changes after baby

I've finally been cleared to go back to work... My old boss wants me back, but wants me to go back with my part time client. That won't work bc it's an hour drive. I just don't want to be that far from my baby now that she's having health problems.
My husband just got an amazing job opportunity at his work and now makes more money. It'll take a while for us to get caught back up bc my leaving work a month earlier than expected set us back.
I just applied for some local retail positions, and it's made me depressed.
I haven't worked retail since I was a teenager. I paid a lot of money to get my medical certs years ago, so going right back to retail has put me in a depressed state. Trying to be positive though. It's the only way I can work and stay close to home.
I talked to my grandmother about it and she made me feel like crap by saying she thought I'd be the well educated grandchild. Wth?! Ugh.

Sometime you have to do what is in the best interst of your family as a whole even if that means you have to sacrifice some for the short term.

My husband got an amazing job offer a week before our baby girl was born. It involved us moving to another state. He's in an apt and I am in our house. (I stay with him when I can). I am trying to find a job close to where he is. Right now I am still on maturnity leave with my current job. I have an interview this week but it's at a lower level than I am now. (Same company different location) but it's the only way I can keep our family living together.

You have to do whatever makes you feel best. I wouldnt want to be an hour away even without the health issues...an hour commute each way? Thats two hours extra time away from LO, I couldnt do it!! Hold your head up high, you might feel depressed about it, but obviously you would feel much worse being so far away from LO so this will probably make you feel better than the alternative.
