My right boob has given up!

So im back at work, which means I'm pumping and it's difficult because I'm only pumping once in a six hour shift, sometimes going 4-6 hrs without nursing or pumping! Obviously my supply has been compromised. I've been having to supplement with formula and I'm losing more and more of my supply each day, my right boob hardly produces an oz at each pump.
Any advice on how to get my supply back up?
I've read about mothers milk and power pumping...

Re: My right boob has given up!

  • Blessed thistle and fenugreek; 3 pills each/3x daily
  • Loading the player...
  • You need to pump more! Your rights as a breastfeeding mother says that you have to be allowed to pump and they must supply you with a private place to pump that's not a bathroom.

  • Yes!! What @tasharchibald said!! Advocate for yourself, your supply & ultimately your child's well being!!
  • They only have to provide a space if there are a certain number of employees.
  • 15 fenugreek tablets spread throughout the day, drink lots (and I mean lots) of water, lactation cookies (with extra Brewers yeast) or smoothies with Brewers yeast, and power pumping midweek (wed or Thurs). Then make sure you nurse starting with that side. My supply went down and then came back, but I had to really work at it. It's about 1/2 the supply of my left.
  • Lurking from June, but I thought I'd offer up my lactation smoothie recipe that has helped me.

    1/3C rolled oats
    1 T Brewers Yeast
    1-1 1/2 T Flax Seed Meal
1/2 C yogurt (check for a high protein content)
    1/2 t Cinnamon
    1 C Almond milk
    1 frozen banana
1/2-1 C frozen fruit of choice.

I drink this once a day. I used to supplement with formula (up to 6-8 oz a da) and now I'm EBF. I also did frequent feelings to stimulate milk production. Good luck!!
