T & P. We went through the same thing 2 weeks ago with DD. We spent 4 days in the hospital for an unexplained fever. The first 2 days were the worst, then she pulled through no problem. The doctors still don't know what caused the fever and tachycardia. It's scary and stressful, definitely sending you thoughts and prayers.
We are being transferred about an hour away to the children's hospital in Macon, so far we still don't know anything; they were unable to get any fluid from the spinal tap (hopefully it will go better at the children's hospital) so we can't rule out meningitis yet. But the fever has stayed down this morning! Thank you for all the prayers ladies, I'm am emotionally and physically exhausted but I know I can always turn to the bump so thank you for that too! & a pic of my little fighter:) she is wayyy tougher than her mama!

I seriously just went through this two weeks ago. Please message me if you need anything. My LO ended up with meningitis, but viral not bacterial. No long term effects at all. Please know I'm thinking of you. It was so much harder on me than him. It pained me so see him like that and I'm sure you feel the same.
Ok so after several unsuccessful attempts at a spinal tap collection the team of doctors has gotten together and rather than keep trying this invasive procedure decided it is best just to treat for anything and everything that it could be! This means we will be on three different rounds of antibiotics for all bacterial infections& if it is vital it will just run its course anyway. Unfortunately it also means 1) we will be here (an hour away from home) at the children's hospital for at least the next 12 days (for fourteen total) while they keep those antibiotics pumping and monitor to keep the fever away. 2) due to the long stay rather than changing her IV site every couple of days so her veins don't weaken, they will be heavily sedating her to insert a pic (pick?) which is a super long IV that will stretch all the way to a main artery. She is definitely feeling better, much more alert and feeding more often, which we are so thankful for! I am super worried for her to be sedated so young and I just worry about those horror stories where things going fine "turned for the worst"! BUT mainly we are going to miss daddy and brothers Next Monday is DS1 birthday so I'm super bummed I am going to miss that and picture day at school AND the first parents meeting AND the boys first ever soccer game ugh it's a lot! However I am so happy to see LO fighting like the champ she is! Thank you all for the t&p! I will be catching up on some serious bump time while we are stuck here for the next 12 days! Love you ladies!
I'm sorry for all this stress but it's great that she'll be taken care of no matter what. If it helps at all, I work in a pediatric ICU and our babies get PICC lines fairly often. I know it's really scary to see them get sedated, but the benefits of the PICC line make it so worth it compared to sticking her for IV's every few days and worrying about the antibiotics harming her veins and skin tissue. Hang in there momma!
Ill be praying for LO the next several days with you. She is in good hands and tell DH to do some face time for the soccer game and send pictures for picture day. Itll make you feel better!!! Sending lots of love your way momma!
@toccoaparker we went through this as well. We lived away from home at a children's hospital for 3 weeks and my son also had a picc line. The doctors took great care of him and made sure they researched long and hard to make sure they knew what he had etc. you are in good hands and although it may be stressful, you will get through and LO will never remember this! Message me if you want to talk
