Anyone know if it's safe to mix stool softeners with prenatals?

since starting my prenatal vitamins with iron I've been having some pretty difficult symptoms as far as not being able to use the bathroom, at all, for like a week at a time. Has anyone else though of mixing stool softeners with prenatal vitamins? I just want some input before I mis what feels like fire and ice in my stomach.

I think it depends upon what you're taking.  I use fiber pills and I take them at a different time of day than my vitamins because I've read that fiber supplements can move things along "too quickly" and make it difficult for your body to absorb all the vitamins.  So I take vitamins in the morning and then fiber when I get home from work or around dinner time.

Talk to your doctor, but it should be perfectly fine. I was given a prenatal and colace (separately) at the hospital after delivering DS.

Pharmacist here: its perfectly fine to take them together. No issue there
