Pains in urethra

in 2nd Trimester
I'm 17 weeks pregnant and getting shooting pains in my urethra. What's causing that and is anyone else getting it?

    Is it a UTI? Does it burn while peeing and do you feel the need to pee more often even when the bladder is empty? I suggest giving your OB a call and seeing if they will do a urine culture. UTI's suck when they get really bad.

    Also,I get shooting pains in the vag, but it's from the baby kicking me low. At 17 weeks baby isn't strong enough to cause pain.

    Thanks. No other UTI symptoms except the pain but think I'll get it checked out anyway.

    I had this. I thought it was a UTI but the tests came back fine. One thing that helped me was arching my back slightly when urinating and or lifting the belly at the same time. You should
    get a culture just to be safe but it could also just be "one of those crazy things" that prego ladies get. I feel like I get a new one everyday.
