EP: how much to feed baby

I started off ebf but due to latch issues I have been pumping and we are planning on seeing an ent specialist for possible tongue tie. My question if you EP how much and how often does you LO eat? Baby is 8 days old. Thanks.

My son eats 2 1/2 oz every 2 hrs at 6wks but he had eating issues early on so babies his age may be eating more.

We were told by our lactation consultant it should be about 2 1/2 ounces for every pound of body weight per day and to watch for hunger signals around 2-3 hours. I had to wake my baby because of latch issues and not gaining weight. I was still breastfeeding at 8 days so I'm not sure how much LO was getting.

There are a couple of recent threads from the last week or so about this if you do a search. My LO is almost 4 weeks and having 6-7 feeds a day, drinking between 60-150mL each time but usually close to 100mL. (We don't measure in oz in this part of the world sorry!) This seems to keep him happy for now. No set feeding interval, he wakes between 2 and 6 hours for a drink.

3 weeks and she eats about 2-3 oz every 2ish hours.

My LO had latch issues early on. Did you try a nipple shield? It has helped us so much and now we EBF. If pumping I would go with 2-2 1/2 oz to start and if still hungry give another 1/2-1oz. Our lactation consultant also cautioned when pumping and using a bottle to try and pace feed so LO doesn't eat too fast.

Same story here and Breast shield did nothing
For me. My daughter was drinking 1-2oz every two hours when we started EP at 1.5 weeks old. Going to ENT on Monday. Good luck!

DS is almost six weeks and drinks 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. When he was 8 days, he had closer to 2 ounces. Agree with PP to start with around 2 and add more if LO is still hungry. Our pediatrician said not to get hung up on amounts and just follow DS' cues about how hungry he is.

My bubs is 2 weeks eating 3 oz every 3-3.5 hours. He was doing 2-2.5 oz at 8 days
