Please no judgment. I am a first time mom and have been very uncomfortable in my pregnancy and have had several visits to L&D because of contractions. I have been giving steroids to prep baby's lungs because of preterm labor. Here I am at 38 &6 and I am having terrible contractions. I went in and I am dialated to 2.5 and they are about every 5 min. I was sent home because I was not progressing but they have not let up.
I am scheduled to see the doc. Here tomorrow to check on baby to see how labor is progressing that will make 2.5 days in labor. I would like to be induced when I go in to help speed things up. Are there any magic words that will make a doctor induce?
Re: How to get doc. to induce labor?
I got induced with my first due to the hospital rules about going over my due date time...well I would not recommend doing that it sucked compared to a more natural birth.
Good luck!
I know its miserable. I'm so sorry. I was in the stop-start-feels-like-early-labor stage from 37 weeks to 41 weeks with my son.
I'm so sorry to tell you this, but there are no magic words when you don't have a medical necessity to induce. Being miserable is not an acceptable medical reason to induce early. I really really really do feel for you because I understand that misery and I've been here.
Unfortunately, you have to cry your tears and make it until at least 40 weeks. My OB wouldn't even talk induction until I started having Pre-E type symptoms and BP weirdness at 41 weeks. As I've said, I really do understand how you feel. I just had to the same: suck it up and keep on trucking.
