EDD Questions

How do I calculate my EDD using my O day?
When I got a BFP I used online calculators that calculated my due date as being May 7th using my LMP. But, because we were TTC and I was charting, I know that I have kind of long cycles and I O'd later than average. Is there a way I can figure out my more accurate EDD using this information?

Re: EDD Questions

  • You can google due date calculators and there should be an option to enter your ovulation date. Or if you want to physical count, I would assume that ovulation would mark 2 weeks? I could be wrong though.

  • Thank you @JessicaB0627 that's what I was wondering. How many weeks to count O as.

  • Honestly your dating ultrasound will be the most accurate by far (assuming you get a dating ultrasound). That being said, unless that ultrasound shows more than one week difference between your due date estimated by LMP versus when you ovulated, your doc probably won't change it.

For example: say you are 7w0d according to your LMP. If your dating ultrasound shows you at 6w4d (because you ovulated late), your due date probably wouldn't change because it's less than 1 week difference.

Disclaimer: this is the policy at my OB's office and other offices could be completely different in how they date!
