I've been lurking on the Trying To Get Pregnant board.
On the TTGP board, it seems like most of the women there are temping, charting, etc. in their journey to TTC. I honestly had never even heard of this before I started reading all of the posts.
Personally, I'm going to just TTC without temping or charting, and see what happens. If I don't get KU within a few months, I'm definitely open to trying the temping and charting on FF.
I have already started prenatal vitamins, and have cut my caffeine intake a ton (hopefully the headaches ease up soon). I'm also really trying to watch what I eat. We are going to TTC #1 11/2015. I am super excited!!
What are your plans when you guys TTC?
Re: What are your plans for TTC?
My plan though is to get my IUD out in July. I am taking multivitamins now that have folic acid, I already eat healthy and exercise regularly. I drink a cup of tea a day and will probably switch to decaf next summer.
We will be pretty laid back at first and not chart or temp. If we aren't successful, we will reevaluate.
We stopped the BCP a year ago and used barrier methods until May. In May, we started trying, tracking loosely with FF (just dates and not symptoms) and using OPKs. Temping would stress me out too much. I'm not sure at what point I would start that, if ever.
In the meantime, I've added a prenatal, but haven't changed my lifestyle significantly otherwise.
I'm planning on taking vitamins and that's that. Also starting TTC right after I'm stopping with BC (which is quite normal here in the netherlands) and then just see when it goes. Charting and temp sounds like a bit too much work atm
Maybe after a couple of months,
but definitely not right away.
Also, the reason that my bf agreed with starting TTC in december was that we wouldn’t have to much pressure during TTC and because it’s not too likely you concieve in the first couple of months. If it does we’ll be extremely happy, if it doesn’t we had a lot of fun trying. And it’s cold in the winter
For me, it's not stressful at all, and we won't become obsessive about timing sex or anything. It's just nice to know if I ovulated, when to expect my period, etc. It will probably create less stress for me to know where I stand.
Another thing I learned charting is that my luteal phase (time between O and period) is short. This can be due to getting off BCPs, but if it persists and I have any trouble conceiving it will be useful info to share with my doctor.

I have been taking a multivitamin with folic acid since April, but I've been taking an actual prenatal since about mid July into August. I've also cut back on my coffee intake, and if/when I drink tea, it's caffeine free. DH and I have been working out more, and I've really been trying to eat cleaner and up my water intake.
