Skin To skin

are you still taking time to lay skin to skin with your LO? My babe is 3weeks and I did it today but wonder if it's still a good idea/ necessary. I know it can't hurt. What are you doing ?

If it wasn't so damn hot here I would still be doing this frequently. Our babes are still very young and can still benefit from this. I hear it also increases milk supply so good all around.

I just need it to cool down. Ugh!

Only if she is inconsolable. Our house is kept on the cooler side so she is in a onesie most days ...with socks. But I think it's great for bonding. I encourage it.

We do it after bath time to get her temperature back up. Other than that we don't really do it any more. Although she does spend a lot of time sleeping on my or DHs chest. Just not technically skin to skin.

We get a lot of skin to skin, mostly because LO and I both like to be mostly naked.

My baby hates it. She hates being naked!!! The only time she's ok with no clothes is when she's bathing or I'm changing her diaper.

we are only one week old, but yes skin to skin is a wonderful benefit for them, even when they are "older"  :-)

I'm jealous! Wish my babe would love to be nude as much as I do!!

My baby always tries to eat me! Even when she's already eaten, and is clearly full...

Super hot here too! DS is usually in just his diaper once afternoon hits. Then once niece is in bed, I'm only wearing shorts and a comfy bra. We inadvertently have skin to skin. On cooler days of he is fussy and we cannot calm him, I will always try skin to skin, it usually helps.

DD and I are usually clothed, but she still loves to fall asleep on my chest. It helps her calm down when she's being squirmy and fighting sleep.

We still try to do it. I try to after bathtime when I am getting ready to nurse him and put him down for the night. I find it helps me unwind and relax too... That it until my toddler busts open the door and puts an end to our one on one cuddles haha

I do a chest to chest nap for her every morning after DH and DD1 leave for work/school. Love that time. Probably should make it skin to skin, but we're both usually clothed.

I wish I attempted it more just Bc of the bonding. He does like to nap on my chest though.

Ugh! It makes me so sad and I start thinking weird things like she'll never bond with me! It's silly to think like that but I can't help it

I know what you mean :-( I especially felt this way after I started bottle feeding. However, when she's crying while someone else is holding her, she almost immediately stops when I take her. She needs her mommy

Mine too. Especially if she's upset. I tell her all the time to "stop trying to eat me" lol

She sleeps on my chest a lot but we are both wearing clothes

Yup. We just really enjoy it so we still do it. Not as often, but a few times a week or so.

I would like to but my boobs are too sore and it's too cold here just now. With my first baby my entire boob region was painful so I rarely did it. First baby is now 2, she is very cuddly with me and tells me she loves me, so I guess the lack of skin to skin didn't affect our relationship too badly, lol
