Increased PP Bleeding?

I'm 4 weeks PP as of tomorrow... my bleeding never really tapered off completely, but it was definitely slowing down.

On Sunday night I sat down on the couch to feed my DD and felt a more than usual amount come out. After checking in the washroom, I found more bleeding and some small clots. The bleeding was not enough to fill a pad so I didn't panic.

The next day the bleeding was red, but not too much. This morning it increased again and so I called my doctor. He wants me to watch what happens and if the bleeding / clots don't decrease by tomorrow afternoon, he will order an ultrasound to see what's going on. I have no cramping.

Anyone else experience anything like this? I doubt it's my period returning.

Mine has ramped down then back up a few times.

that happened to me too then it tapered off again within about a week.

My doctor told me to expect an increase of blood, sometimes out of nowhere around the 4 week mark. She did give me A reason why this happens but I don't remember what it was! 4 weeks PP here and had a lot of bright red bleeding pick up the past couple of days.

I'm glad you mentioned this. I was 4 weeks pp on Monday and this happened right around then.
OP, mine has tapered on and off as well. It never got heavier than a period so I didn't feel concerned. I have had some cramping the past 2 days. That's the first that happened.

Fairly normal to taper off and then ramp back up. This happened to me after DS. Also, your body will respond if you're doing too much that's why it really is important to take it easy the first 6ish weeks.

Yes! I am 4 weeks PP today and all of a sudden last night it picked up again. I had been having some cramping over the weekend so thought it might just be my period returning. I know bleeding can pick up if you do too much but I really had not done anything out of the norm all weekend so I was confused.

same exact thing happened to me. My bleeding stopped around 6 weeks and then I started bleeding light for a few days which I still think may have been my period. Then about a week went by of no bleeding and then bam- all of a sudden I had super heavy bleeding I am going on day 4 of this and I hope that it calms down soon. Glad to know I'm not alone! (that's why I love this board)

I think it's pretty normal. On week 3 I started bleeding very heavily including some major sized clots. I went to the doctor for baby's eye actually and asked about the bleeding. She said it was completely normal around week 3/4 to start seeing some heavier bleeding because your uterus is giving a final push to be smaller. The bleeding lasted less than 2 days and now it's nearly gone (4 weeks today since c section)

I am 4 weeks PP as well and a few days ago had some red blood and small clots, and as of the last two days it's been almost non existent and that golden/amber color. I've just been using panty liners yesterday and today. I'm hoping this means it's going away for good now.
