I stopped breastfeeding my 15 month old 2 months ago. She does fine with whole milk. I just thought that she would have forgot about breastfeeding by now (2 months.) Well.. occasionally she wants the boob again. I don't give it to her but she pulls down my shirt and makes the milk sign. This doesnt happen too often.
I'm due to have baby #2 any day now.. and am wondering how it will go when she sees me breastfeeding #2. I really thought my toddler would have forgot about breastfeeding by now!
Suggestions?
Re: weaning from breastfeeding /new baby coming
My 1st thought is that she'll definitely want attention when you are BF LO#2 - not necessarily BF herself. My DD never asked to BF (I gave up 16mo) but she was a paci addict. We stopped cold turkey (her 3rd bday) but she'd sneak a paci when she could. She found some recently (near 4) and I saw her give them a suck, but lost interest quickly. She still wants lots of attention! My DS is BFing at 20mo and I am weaning him as while TTC#3. Unlike DD, DS asks to BF all the time and is upset when I decline
but not too much. I cuddle and caress him instead. We're down to BF 1x a day.
