Cold symptoms (nurse today said its common), no appetite, and just being dang cranky!
I have been googling all day about getting a cold while being 5 weeks! My nose is so stuffed up, and I couldn't sleep last night. I've been drinking a bunch of water and pineapple coconut water (vitamin c) today. It's hard for me to believe this is due to pregnancy and not having an actual cold! That's so bizzare (and miserable).
Is anyone else not feeling any nausea? It's freaking me out. I have major fatigue and pee a lot, but I peed a lot pre-pregnancy as well so it's messing with my head. I don't know if I'm inventing symptoms or if it's my normal self. I don't feel pregnant, I just feel tired. I keep testing every morning because it feels like the only thing I have at the moment to verify I'm actually pregnant. I'm nuts.
@missnc77 you're not crazy! I haven't felt nauseous until I got the cold symptoms - and I wouldn't even call it nauseous. Just not feeling well at all and loss of appetite! But I had bloodwork done today and they said all is well. Back to drinking gallons of water and taking Tylenol (which barely helps...).
Can we just admit women are superior after going through all of this to keep the human race alive?!
I'm seriously sitting at my desk right now snorting steam from a hot cup of water. I guess the good side of pregnancy is it forces you to seek out non-drug treatments instead of doping yourself up on every cold medicine available. I may actually finally break down and try a netti pot. First you take my wine, prosciutto, and caffeine. Now you take my cold medicine.
Nausea hands down. Having to find something to eat every 2 hours is exhausting and not being able to crawl out of bed in the morning without a saltine cracker!? I feel like a crazy person.
for me its a toss up between food tasting gross (and I love food so its a completely weird feeling for me) sore boobs and heightened sense of smell (which is worse at work and many times has sent me gagging to the bathrooms but luckily I haven't thrown up yet)
Tiredness, I've been taking a little nap when I get home from work! MANY Crazy dreams-Like at least 5 long dreams a night that I wake up remembering (I dreamed quite a bit before pregnancy so I figured this would get worse). I feel like I dream all night long. Whenever I wake up from dreams, I feel so many of the emotions from them (also that way before I was pregnant). So like if someone dies or my husband cheats in the dream, I just wake up feeling this horrible pit in my stomach and like I'm going to cry any second. It always feels like it really happened. Feels like I don't get any good sleep.

How far along are you? I usually get sick around 6 weeks through 13 weeks. Everyone is different though!
I have a new one today...the pressure in my pelvis!! Arg, its the weirdest feeling, and actually made me panic last night (but honestly, whats NOT making me panic). And the cramps this morning felt like period cramps which of course set off alarm bells.
Starting to get some nausea. More like an uneasy feeling. No vomiting. It was so bad last night that it woke me up. Not going to complain about it though since I did say I wanted it
I really do not think I have had many symptoms other than exhaustion ( but no problem sleeping) and peeing all the time. For about a week I had dull pain in my right side which was worry some. Those are about my only symptoms which has had me curious. I expected to have more symptoms by now

I think I'm about 5-5 1/2 weeks right now. I have a really irregular period which makes guessing fun. I see the doctor in a week, so hopefully I'll get a better idea.
Missnc I am the exact same way. Glad to know I am not alone. I have taken many tests just to assure myself since I feel no symptoms. I go to doctor on sept 21 and I hope to find peace then.
I feel like I have the worst cold ever. I can't believe how congested I am. That and the constant peeing. Who knew I could produce so much fluid!
I started getting cold symptoms on Tuesday night with congestion, and Wednesday I woke up severely congested. I couldn't sleep! I went out yesterday and bought some vicks vapor rub to put under my nose (not all that helpful) and a neti pot (an interesting experience...). I saw in my prenatal it has zinc in it, and I ate tons of green vegetables and fruit yesterday as well as drank some pineapple coconut water (more vitamin c than OJ, but less sugar) and tons of water. I am still congested this morning, but I feel a little better. I read that the big thing with getting a cold is that you don't want it to turn into sinusitis, and that the salt solution in the neti pot can help clean bacteria out of your sinuses. Hoping I can stay on top of it without drugs! Good luck, sister!
Headaches and Nausea. I was hoping to avoid MS with this pregnancy, but doesn't seem to be the case thus far. I was so sick with my son Ian that I lost 25 pounds in my first 3 months of pregnancy.
I had horrible diarrhea the other day with very painful gas pains. Of course I was at work..ugh that was bad. I had this with my first child too...apparently it's common to have diarrhea early on with all the hormones messing with your body. Hopefully I'm done with that
Last pregnancy I threw up from 8 weeks until 15 weeks. I'm praying that doesn't happen again, but we shall see
My entire body is sore and feels like I have the flu. My lower back down my legs are aching the worst! It all started before taking my first progesterone suppository last night so that didn't cause it. I've basically been feeling this way for at least 24 hours straight and it interrupted my sleep last night. During the night I swear it hurt all the way to my toes. I'm miserable already and I'm only 4w1d.
Draining sinuses.... OMG this is making the already bad nausea SO MUCH WORSE.
Yep. The swollen, draining sinuses are no fun. I never snored until I was pregnant with DS. The snoring went away, but my pregnancy sinus souvenir is a snort when I laugh really hard. DH thinks it's hilarious.
Salt is OVERWHELMING! My taste buds can't take salt like they used to. Foods lightly salted such as popcorn and crackers, even salad dressings taste like salt was poured on them.
Boobs and nipples extremely sore - tonight the pressure of the water hurt my nipples so bad. Overall all day gross feeling , like I want to gag most the day. Lots of gas mainly burping . Constantly battling with the fact that I need to eat to feel better but at the same time so naseaus that I don't want to eat. I hate that something sounds so delicious and then a few minutes later the thought makes me ill. I have my emotional moments where I cannot stop myself from crying or lashing out at DH. As I am very thankful to be pregnant I miss feeling great everyday or like my usual self . Oh this is going to be a journey .
For me it's all the stomach/digestion related systems that are driving me crazy - heartburn, nausea, constipation, and the constant need to shove food in my face. I used to enjoy eating but now it's a big chore. FX the second tri brings relief to us all!
I'm so itchy! My skin has gotten so dry despite me drinking what feels like my weight in water. The worst is when my boobs itch because there is no real sneaky way to scratch them while out in public.
@allishally13 may I ask what was prescribed and if your obgyn or Gastro prescribed? My ibs was also under control and since week 5 I'm as out of control and miserable as before I found my triggers.
Can I also add: the crankiness. An earlier conversation with DH. "I want a hug. You're doing it wrong. Stop touching me." I'm pretty sure DH is afraid for his life at this point in time.
DH and I went shopping at Target this weekend for a friend's baby shower. He wasn't giving enough input so I told him he needed to go to another part of the store. He decided instead to take a walk outside and I couldn't find him. Needless to say there's been a lot of apologizing on my part lately.
Same as you, OP! Heartburn galore! Just started today. I recall this with my first pregnancy and it was just awful. Tums in every room of the house for convenience.
Salt is OVERWHELMING! My taste buds can't take salt like they used to. Foods lightly salted such as popcorn and crackers, even salad dressings taste like salt was poured on them.
OMG me too! It is so strange. I've never had a sensitivity to salt. Right now I'm eating animal crackers and I can taste the salt. String cheese tastes like it has been dipped in salt.
