constipation

Any tried remedies for constipation .
I really have a hard time passing stool it hurts (sorry for saying this) ... Im eating pulpy fruits thinking they might help but very little.. Im 16weeks

  • Lots of fruit and veges, drink lots of water, exercise, and lay off processed or baked goods like cakes/pasta etc.

    Also you could try a stool softener if lifestyle changes don't help.

  • Try a daily fiber supplement
  • Peri -colace (it is in the approved med lidt for pregnancy) it works wonders after thr first couple doses!
  • I found that when I have a high fiber breakfast (usually a bowl of bran flakes), I have no constipation problems and on days that I skip the cereal, I do. Colace has been helpful too.
  • My doctor told me to do a capful of miralax every couple of days. I haven't tried it yet because shortly after that appointment I got food poisoning but I plan on trying if this constipation keeps up like it has
  • I did Colace every day. Lots of water. High fiber diet. Nothing helped. Now that the baby moves a lot more, no more issues for me. I've heard constipation can be made worse by the position of the baby and where he sits.
  • Oranges are helping a bit .i took stool softner but it didnt work i think i should take it for a couple of days and then see.
  • Omg I feel your pain. There are some nights I literally had to go lay on the couch and was just crying because of the discomfort and pain. Its horrible I usually take a colace when it gets that bad or I take Miramax a couple days out of the week every other. Otherwise I try to avoid taking anything and hope the way I eat and upping my water in take will be okay on its own. But if it happens again with the pain that bad I will obviously tell my doctor to come up with a solution! Feel better xoxo
  • I have a protein shake every morning and add chia seeds and find this helps a lot. Another thing that helped was Metamucil
  • I have Metamucil every day because I'm on a pretty hefty dose of iron as of a few weeks ago. It helps a ton.
  • Fiber one makes magical tasting gummies, I've always had constipation problems and fiber helps if you stay on it fairly consistently.If you're into it you can drink a cup of decaf coffee, coffee always gets me moving like lightening! Or you can try probiotic yogurt!
  • Prunes and green leafy vegetables did it for me!

    Also, the only thing that helped me was a mcdonald's quarter pounder. I know it sounds weird, but I would eat one and have relief within the hour. I hate mcdonalds normally, but during my pg with DS it was the only way I could poop weekly.
