Any previous HG moms that are scared of it this time?

I had HG with my son. I started throwing up before I had a positive test and the queasiness didn't resolve until after I delivered. It was hell, and I am completely terrified about that happening again. It was tolerable last time because I wasn't also in grad school and trying to keep up with a 4.5 year old at the same time. At least we know the tricks this time around? Amazon is delivering B6 and unisom today and I have crackers camped out on my nightstand. Zofran script is on standby. Anyone want to hold hands and get through this part together?

  • Didn't have diagnosed HG, but threw up around the clock every day from 6 weeks to 17 weeks even on zofran. Lost 15lbs. I'm bracing myself, I have no clue what this is gonna look like taking care of my 14 mo old! I'm skeeeered!

  • I was never diagnosed with HG but I was throwing up constantly from 4 weeks to 20 weeks! I was so grateful that it finally subsided. I was on zofran and phenergan and I still couldn't keep anything down. I lost 20 lbs by week 20 and was hospitalized 3 times for dehydration.

I am currently 4 1/2 weeks and still feeling great. I am so hoping this pregnancy is completely different than last!

I really hope you both have smooth pregnancies this time around!
  • I had it with my second child, and my last pregnancy, which ended in a miscarriage. The last one was the worst- it started at about 6.5 weeks, and I lost ten pounds in seven days before I got medication (horrible nurse who no longer works with my ob). The nausea didn't let up after I lost the babies, either - it took weeks. With my daughter, I thought there was something seriously wrong with me, and I went to the emergency room for dehydration before I even knew I was pregnant, left work in the middle of my shift because I was vomiting plain water in patient rooms (I was a nursing assistant at the time). Vomiting lasted until the seventh month, but I was nauseated until she was born.
I feel not awesome now, but I've only thrown up twice. Fingers crossed! I've had other pregnancies that were easier, so I know it's possible for me...
