Sunday Spam!

I woke up all "ugh, it's Sunday." Then I remembered it's a long weekend, wooo!

What are you ladies up to? DH is a civil engineer and oversees various construction projects. One of them is running behind schedule so he had to work today. Womp womp. So it's me and DS and the dogs on our own until who knows when. DS is napping so it's time to Bump!

@chottomotto sorry to hear you and DD are sick! Hopefully it will pass soon. I've been dreading DD coming home with some infectious illness from school but I know it's gonna happen!

My other DD is crawling around crying because she's refusing to take a nap this will last the next 20 mins then when I pick her up and place her on my chest she will fall asleep within 2 minutes! We have nothing special planned his weekend for Labor Day but DH is off tomorrow so we shall see!

DH is still in bed but I'm up bc I was tired of not sleeping. I literally wake up what feels like a billion times throughout the night and cannot stay asleep. :(

DH is going over to a friends house today to play some music with some friends for a little bit. I'll be using that time to try and clean up the house aka binge Netflix.

Thanks guys. I always get sick at the start of my pregnancies. I think it lowers my immune system. Besides, who gets a cold in August in Florida?!

My fall semester started so I am back to reading/writing daily. Only one more week before my son is back to school and I'm looking forward to the break.

Yes I was a little upset that schools are closed Monday for the holiday because I do enjoy my break! This is a pic of my DD trying to lay in my lap and watch Cars!

I'd be lying if I said we weren't! SW FL though. We'll be in Naples most of our trip so we'll sneak into an open house or two :)

Dh works out of state, so I'm always alone.  Both sides of the family have plans for the weekend, but we weren't invited because of our family size.  I should be used to it, because it happens all the time, but it still hurts.  DH's family is out with him this weekend...

It's Monday 8am for me (Sunday 4pm east Coast USA) I'm used to being a day out of sync for various forums.

DH is off to work already and thank goodness I don't feel 'fall down drunk' again. The spinning room feeling I had yesterday would be too much to handle alone. I was looking forward to a walk today but it's a cold, rainy, spring day. Looking forward to summer right around the corner.

@Kurrant I'm too lazy to look back through the Where do you Live thread -- are you in NZ? Or Australia?

Woke up with one of the wet cricks in my neck :( Normally I would take a Tramadol, but I'm stuck with just Tylenol and alternating heat and cold. Just waiting for it to go away. Not how I wanted to spend my weekend...

We went to church, did some grocery shopping, let DD play outside on her new (to her) bike, played princesses, and are cooking tofu tikka masala for dinner.  I'm ready to veg in front of the TV and ignore the fact that I have to work tomorrow.  Happy Sunday!

Gardened today and put in fall plants--kale, Swiss chard, broccoli and Brussels sprouts. Tonight: dinner party! Tomorrow, my H and I are going kayaking. ETA: @lalala2004 : I've got an awful chronic neck issue, so I feel your pain! I have this wrap you stick in the microwave; it smells like warm spices and helps the neck calm down. In fact, I had to pull it out a few days ago after months with no issues. Hoping you get some relief, too!

@vinerie - how do you use Swiss chard? I always walk past it at the grocery store because I have no idea what to do with it!

@kmalls It's a great vegetable to use in soups or sauté as it holds up well (i.e. spinach when it wilts gets really stringy, imo.)

We ate a bunch of swiss chard this week. I made this soup but used chard in stead of kale because I had a bunch:

I also really like this recipe--super easy, healthy and yummy: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1015090-seared-shrimp-with-chard-chiles-and-ginger

(I obsessively read the NYT food section and use the food/cooking app they have all the time, which is how I discovered all of these recipes!)

Ugh the due date lists make my head hurt.

ETA: there's also a perfect example of why its way too early (for me) for a FB group over on the Facebook thread. Yikes.
