Need play ideas

soooooo I'm getting bored of our current routine that consists of singing songs, reading, activity mat, pointing out everything at the store, exploring my closet/spices, etc. My LO is 17 weeks old and is alert more now and I'm looking for new activities to do with her. I'm a SAHM and am getting bored of our current routine. I have been googling and looking on Pinterest but wanted to see if anyone has found a fun, interesting activity to do with their babies!

We do library time every week and will be starting swimming lessons next week, maybe your community has some weekly classes you could join. We also do daily walks, my LO loves nature

  • We do 3 baby classes a week plus walk every day either in pram or Tula
  • I also was going to suggest the library for free activities. Now that its going to start getting cooler out I anticipate much more outside time. He loves to just look around out there. I'm with ya- I'm so bored and tired of the music on his play mat!
  • Definitely look into free/cheap stuff to do outside of home too.  I'm starting baby massage next week, swimming lessons at the end of the month, and once baby massage is done I'll likely do the library's Mother Goose thing once a week.  I know there's free mom meet up groups too in my city, but I'm not sure yet if I'll do that.  DD hates her nap, but needs it to keep from being a complete bear, and I want to see how things go before I get us doing too much in a week.

Just visiting people in general is good, because LO gets to interact with different folks.  I'm lucky I live next door to my parents, and DD loves her Papa and Grandma to bits, and both love to talk to her and get her giggling and wiggling.  My only rationale for thinking about a mom group is that DD was fascinated when she saw another baby at Walmart. It'll be good for her.
  • We do story time at the library once a week. At home we have a variety of things we do that I try to mix up day to day: activity mat, blanket with rattle toys and crinkle books, exersaucer, bumbo chair, blanket outside in the yard under the trees, and "helping" me fold laundry while in the bumbo or on a blanket. When it's not ridiculously hot out we'll go for walks. Also 1 play date a week. All this mixed in with working part time and working out while DH watches DS absorbs all the time!
  • I agree with library time. Baby and I look forward to it every week! I sing to her, dance with her and just change up activities (swing, play gym, tummy time, bouncer, boppy) she's like me and gets bored easily! We go on a walk around the neighborhood when the weather cooperates!
