looking for some positive experiences with VBAC to inspire me for this time around. if you have personal experience or can tell me about a friend who went thru it I would be so grateful!
I had a successful VBA2C on 8/13. My first delivery was a c/s due to breech position and my 2nd was a failed VBAC (fetal distress, wouldn't descend while pushing--2 hours). The biggest factor in my success was a supportive provider. Despite a failed VBAC, my size, and the size of my babies, he never questioned my attempt. I believe my previous VBAC failed because my body was ready, I was induced at 40w for pre-eclampsia. With this birth I went into spontaneous labor at 38+5. I was in disbelief that it was true labor but my husband convinced me to stay home just I'm case. I progressed quickly and drove myself to the hospital at 10 am, arrived in full lanor. I did get an epidural at my OB's recommendation since my last c/s was an emergency c/s and I was in so much pain I wanted it by then. I was strep b+ so needed antibiotics (4 hours between doses). I just barely got my 2nd dose and was ready to push by 3:30, my daughter was born less than 30 min later. No one really believed I could do it since I'm so small and my husband so big but I delivered my 3rd, and largest, on my own. It was an amazing experience!
