To go or not to go

Can't see my regular Dr right now due to insurance complications. I'm 39.1 and I have been contracting since the 30th. Been losing mp since the first. Was supposed to have a check up on the 1st as well but couldn't go due to insurance. I wanna know in your opinion if I should make an er trip to be checked. On the 30th, I was one cm and cervix was still thick. Then I started losing mp. And baby was really low as my nurse stated.

I've been contracting since 36 weeks which was the last week in July (I am 41 weeks today with my second) I have also been loosing my mucous plug since the same time. Had my appointment today and I am still only 2 and 70% effaced. How uncomfortable are you? The ER is meant for emergencies so unless you feel that you have an emergency I wouldn't go. When are you going to have another visit?

I would advise going in to be checked, better safe then sorry. I understand insurance issues but nothing is more important than your baby. Good luck with everything.

Paying out of pocket for one OB visit is going to be hundreds of dollars cheaper than an ER visit.
