Multiples Check in - 9/1/15

Welcome to September everyone I am so happy the weather will be changing. Being pregnant in this heat is driving me up the freakin wall!!!! LOL.

So, how is your week going?
How far along are you?
Any new news on the babies?
Are you feeling kicks and pokes and jabs yet?
Do you have names picked out?
Who's returning to work after delivering? If so, how much is childcare going to cost you?
What have you purchased for the babies yet?

My week is going okay. Still dealing round ligament pain which I am getting used to since it happens so frequently. Having to pee all the time again, as if it is the beginning of the pregnancy all over. Back is hurting a lot more and the discharge, well, it's not pleasant I'll say that much. It doesn't smell or anything there's just a lot! Pantyliners every day otherwise it would be a mess lol. So gross! I can see the veins on my body a lot clearer. Boobs are huge. I feel like I have 2 heads in a headlock lol.

I am 20 weeks and 3 days as of today.

Yes, I have news on my babies. I had my anatomy scan last Friday and it was determined our little girl has what they call CPAM (Congential Pulmonary Airway Formation). Basically she has a mass growing on one of her lungs and this is causing a blockage. Fortunately it isn't a huge concern right now because I am still breathing for her but if it grows it could be a problem. In 90% of the cases things are fine because it either shrinks and goes away on its own or it stays so small that nothing needs to be done until she is older, where they will remove it surgically. If it does get bigger while in utero she will have to have surgery after she's born. So I am asking that all of you keep her in your prayers. Other than that they are both doing amazing! Both are moving a lot and weighing in at 11 oz. They are right on track with the due dates. She was even kicking her brother on the ultrasound lol. I go for an MRI in 2 weeks so I'll keep you all updated. I was mess on Friday, crying my eyes out, but I'm better now that I've researched it more.

Yes, I am feeling kicks all the time and can tell which is which.

We have our daughters name picked out and have for about a month but still deciding on our son.

I will not be returning to work. We are paying off debt right now, car notes and credit cards, so that my husband can pay all the bills once the babies are here. I prefer to be at home with them and am thankful I have that option.

I have only purchased clothing. My parents are getting 1 bed and a stroller while my aunt is getting the other bed. I am still working on getting the other big things like the car seats, bouncers, etc. Speaking of baby gear, I need to put together a registry. Have any of you done that? If so, where did you register? I am not having a baby shower but I think having a registry can help keep me organized on what I need to get.

Have a good day ladies!

My week is going well! I have been feeling so much better, but yesterday nausea reared its ugly head again so I was back on the couch eating pasta for dinner.  I am getting so big so fast, though still carrying below my belly button.  I love it though. I also absolutely HATE this heat.  I cannot wait for fall.  It is my favorite season, and I really look forward to cool breezes, warm drinks, crockpot meals, and switching to fall maternity wardrobe.

I am 18 weeks 3 days, so I am considering tomorrow my halfway point- alright!  We are eagerly awaiting our anatomy scan next Friday.  We know there is one boy in there, so we are just so eager to know the other! And praying they are both healthy.  @keshakdavis, your little girl has been in my prayers.

I am not feeling any kicks or jabs yet, but happy to hear you are! As I typically find being behind on this board that I do experience what everyone else notes, just a couple of weeks later ;-)

We have a short list of names.  I have loved one girl's name from the beginning I have been trying to sell my husband on. I am making slow progress I think.

We are unsure what we are doing right now re: my working.  Ideally I will be home with the babies, but there are many balls up in the air right now.

Friday we are crib shopping! And I have a glider picked out that I will be purchasing soon.  I have my registry set up on Amazon.  I have a good amount of nursery decorations on there and a rug I am hoping a kind soul purchases.

  • I think I've only checked in on one multiple thread for Jan '26..sorry for not being more active!
I am 19w GGB triplets. My girls are 9oz and baby boy is 10oz. I feel movement but not much in the way of kicks. I found out why though- my girls are kicking other babies (in the head! Ouch). Mostly I feel boy kicking on my right and that's all!
They have had names since the gender reveal.
I will be going back to work. DH does shift work, so his weekdays off he will be Mr. Dad and then twice a week we will have a nanny come in. Our plan is to pay the nanny $100 cash for each day, so childcare for all three really won't be so bad. My MIL and other family members will swing in to help too.
So far we have their cribs, cloth diapers and a few outfits each (that I've bought). I have 3 swings, a giant tub of clothes, bouncer and a menagerie of items that people have given us.

@keshakdavis I registered at amazon and target. You can buy from your own registry with a discount of 10-15%, so it's worth creating one!
Prayers for your LO, I'll be thinking about you!

Two years, two losses and three IUIs...

    We are having TRIPLETS!

  • @happyandhopeful3 I know we have never met but you sound like such a sweet person. I am glad we came across each others paths on this board. There are not too many people whose name sticks out to me but yours does. Thank you so much for the prayers.

I was considering Amazon since it is easy to ship from all over the country. I think I'll set it up this weekend. I can't imagine how anxious you are to find out the sex! I'd be going crazy, which I know you are.

Crockpot meals....yummy!!! Those are my go to meals so I don't have to cook when I get home. Love it!

  • @Kelley421 OMG triplets, wow! I can't imagine the reactions you are getting. I thought having twins brought out extreme reactions from people so I can't imagine your days. Congratulations on your little ones.

It is nice you and your husband are able to work things out as far as day care goes because it can be really expensive. A nanny who can devote all of his or her time to your babies is priceless so congrats on scoring that.

I'll be starting my registry with Amazon this weekend and I had no idea I could buy from my own with a discount! Thanks for the tip!

  • @keshakdavis I've been thinking about you and your little ones and including you in my prayers! I'm sure this will be a story you tell her when she's having her own little ones!

I found out last week I'm having boy/girl twins! We have names picked out since we found out we were pregnant!

I've had lots of problems with high blood pressure and have spent many days at the hospital per doc recommendations just to go home with no different news. As long as my babies are fine I'll keep doing it!

I registered at babies r us because I have a lot of little old ladies who were confused when I talked to them about Amazon!

I get 3 months paid maternity leave so I will take that and then hopefully I'll stay out till the beginning of next school year. It all depends on finances and babies health at birth. If they spend a lot of time in the NICU I'll definitely take more time. My husband works nights so either way I'm hoping to not need daycare. My mom also said she'll come a day a week for the first year and watch my little ones. She's super excited to be a grandma!

We have cribs....and hand me downs and NOTHING ELSE! I'm not going to buy until after the shower. Also there's a big consignment sale for first time moms in my area. If I see great stuff I'll get it there!

    Good luck to everyone!

  • @keshakdavis my thoughts and prayers are with you and your little girl!

I'm 22w 2d. I'm feeling really tired this week, struggling to sleep at night and totally exhausted during the day.
We found out at the 19w scan that our little boy has a hole in his heart in the muscle membrane. The Dr said that it's not causing any problems and 90% close before birth or within first 6months and it just means we'll have more frequent scans to keep an eye on it. But I still cried because you just want to hear that everything is ok! The Dr also said my placenta is sitting on the borderline of being low, nothing to be concerned about though. I see my Dr next week and then next anatomy scan is 26w.
Feeling big kicks now! I get kicks in 2 main areas on opposite sides of my belly, so I'm hoping I'm feeling both of them. They particularly like to kick at night!
My husband is of Greek origin, and very traditional with a very traditional family, so we're naming our babies after his parents as per tradition...the boy Kyriakos and the girl Theodosia -which translates to Jack and Soula in English.
I have absolutely no idea if I will go back to working, as previously mentioned I only have casual contract work so it is uncertain if I will even get work to go back to! I think it would be cheaper for us to have a nanny at home. My in-laws will also be very willing to help out with looking after them, but I can't expect them to be there 24/7 if I get full time work. All so complex!
I haven't bought anything for babies yet! I'm just doing research to find the best prices and if I will have a registry. I'm hoping that somewhere will offer a discount for having a registry. Amazon would be amazing if we didn't have to pay a million dollars for shipping to Australia!!

  • @keshakdavis Thinking of your and your babies - please keep us updated!

I'm 21w3d with twin girls! I had a repeat anatomy scan yesterday to get some of the missed views from the first one - they were still unable to get certain views! The doc says nothing they've seen has given him any reason to be concerned though, so it's possible we may never get that one particular view! They're both growing like weeds though!

My placentas are anterior so I'm only feeling subtle movements periodically. I put a cold pack on my belly the other night because I was itchy and they started freaking out! I t bad, so I apologized and immediately removed it :)

Husband and I have always found it way easier to find girls names so we're going to get a short list and decide when they're born!

I'm in Canada so I get a year maternity leave, and I'll be taking every single day of it! My job is flexible so I'll probably start back again at reduced hours and go from there. I don't think I'll want to leave my babies!

We have purchased literally nothing for the babies... but we're buying our cribs tonight! They're on sale at Ikea! We'll probably register soon too - my mom is sending out shower invites at the end of the month for our November shower.

I love these updates and seeing how everyone is doing!
  • Sounds like we should all move to Canada.   :D

  • @happyandhopeful3 You'd love it! It breaks my heart seeing some posts on here about not being able to afford to give birth or having to return to work after a couple of months. Our healthcare system is far from perfect but there are things we Canucks take for granted.

I will say that I am totally jealous you guys have Target... it was a very sad day they announced they were pulling out of Canada. :(
  • 19 weeks 3 days with twin girls ☺️
Feeling kicks more and more--I think they like lemonade as they have been dancing in there this am. At anatomy scan they were moving so much it was hard to get some of the views.

Will return to work after 16 weeks of leave. Luckily TN adds an extra 4 weeks of bonding time to FMLA. Mine will go to daycare. Luckily my older two will be in preK and 1st grade next year so don't have to pay for all four to go. Our rates are much lower around here than some I've seen. Will cost 310 dollars to send both per week.

Got my first shipment of pink clothes last night. Carters had 1/2 off sleep and play outfits plus I had 25% off coupon ☺️ having two boys before, this is my first girl clothes shopping. So fun :)

Names are so hard! Picking out one is hard--two is terrible ha ha. But I think we've got them. We don't tell until it's the baby's name so we don't get any opinions on should/shouldn't have named xyz...
