I have been having the worst heartburn the past few days.... Has anybody taken tums, are they safe? Anyone know any home remedies?!

I got such bad heartburn I couldn't stop throwing up. My doctor told me to take Zantec because Tums wasn't working and OMG it has made such a huge difference!! I take one as soon as I feel heartburn start and it goes away within minutes. I don't know how I lived without this stuff!

Tums is safe, and so is Zantac (ranitidine).

Tums are class c, where Zantac is class b and works soooooo much better.

I heard not take to take too much tums because it can cause kidney stones. I take them probably once a day. I cannot tolerate the heart burn it is so bad even on an empty stomach.
