Positive test...followed by negative?

Hi ladies, I have two kids already so I feel silly about this...but I got a positive test Saturday morning- a HUGE surprise. I took another one that evening (negative) and another the following morning (negative). Anyone have any kind of similar experience? Dr office won't send me for blood work until well after my missed period. This waiting and unknowing is sooo tough!

This hasn't happened to me before. However, my thoughts are you got a faint positive with concentrated pee and then a negative with diluted pee later. The other possibility was that it was CP, so my advice would be to test with FMU tomorrow morning to know for sure.

Some questions for you:

1) Were the tests all the same brand? Some are more sensitive than others, and if you test early, it might not yet show up on some tests. I got a squinter on a Wondfo in the morning, then that evening I got a negative on an internet cheapie but another positive on a CB digital (with the same urine).

2) Did the positive show up right away? If you read it outside the window in which you're supposed to read it (should say in the instructions) you might get a false positive.

3) Did you use pink or blue dye tests? I've heard blue dye tests are more prone to 'evaporation lines', which can look like a positive result (see question 2).

Like @llanafish13 said, it might also have to do with FMU vs. diluted urine. I don't think it's a CP, because I think you'd have had your 'period' by now. I'd say keep testing until you get another positive or your period. You don't have to use FMU for this (the advice is to hold your pee for at least four hours before testing) but it does normally have the highest levels of pregnancy hormones, so use it when you can (trust me, holding in your pee for four hours is no fun).

I had this happen 3 cycles ago and unfortunately it was a chemical pregnancy in my case. It was deviating to hear because I was so happy when I saw the positive. I hope your situation ends up being different.

I'm currently experiencing this. I got a BFP last Wednesday morning with a Clearblue digital. Since then I have test every day (except Saturday and Sunday) at different times of the day with other tests (dollar store test, another Clearblue) and all have been positive until today. I tested with a HPT from Walmart around noon and I got a negative. A few hours later I tested with another dollar store test and received a negative. I've been experiencing some pretty intense cramps all day right around my c-section scar (I have a 22 month old) and I'm nervous I'm experiencing a CP, which I will be devastated since we've been trying for #2 for 13 months. I'm going to test again tomorrow with FMU and hope for the best.

I took a clear blue digital on Tuesday and it was negative. I'm at two days late...and I'm normally very regular. Wondering if maybe it was a chemical pregnancy and my body is not adjusted to that? I'm supposed to call the dr back after the 5th if still no period.

lb1017 I hope you are able to get some answers soon! I'm really nervous, I started bleeding last night and it's continued today. It's not heavy enough to wear a tampon, but it is bright red and a bit clotty, mainly only when I got to the bathroom. No cramping or pain, but I've called my Dr. and I'm waiting for a call back - of course I'm fearing the worst...I'll be heartbroken but trying to stay positive.
