Baby Names

Need a name to go with Lane!

My husband has expressed his love for the name Lane for his future son since we have been together.. Since I don't totally hate the name and know how much he loves it, we will use that for a boy's name.

I am not super "you-neek" and into weird names, but don't want the classic names either like Johnathan, Christopher, etc.

I will use Lane for either first or middle name. My dad, DH and brother all go by their middle names so it's no biggie. Last name is 2 syllables.

Thanks yall :)

  • Lane was a top contender for me if this had been a boy. I love it. I don't see that it's trendy at all. Lane (for girl or boy) nor any of its spellings or variations (Laney, etc) have never been higher than 295 on the SSA list from the research I did on the name.

    I like:
    Lane Michael
    Lane Alexander
    Lane Timothy
    Lane Asher
    Lane Emery
    Lane Phillip
    Lane William

  • DH is Lane Matthew.  Apparently Lane was the last name of someone back on his mom's side.  I love it because it is different, but be warned that people will constantly be saying it wrong, spelling it wrong, and calling him other things.  DH often gets Blaine or Lance.

With that being said, from this post alone it seems like maybe it's making a comeback!
  • My concern with the name Lane is that it might get mis-heard as "Lame" sometimes. As far as a middle name, I love Lane Alexander.
