My hubby and I decided to do a Dr. Seuss Nursery theme. We both loved Dr. Seuss growing up and it can go for either gender. Have you picked your theme yet?
Not doing a nursery theme, since this kiddo will share a room with the other one... just buying sheets to match the existing colors. Second kid, getting cheated early?
For DD we did a girly jungle/monkey theme ... This time around we are going with Harry Potter inspired for either sex! I am so excited to buy a owl lamp!!

Ds currently has Winnie the Pooh theme. I wouldn't mind carrying that over for new baby, but depends on whether we can convince him he really wants an Octonauts themed room.

I want to do a HP theme too! I have to convince DH- I'm the nerd of the family. I keep telling him, I want to go for CLASSY Harry Potter, not tacky. Harry Potter themed, but you wouldn't know it was Harry Potter unless you were a fan. I was thinking owls and I saw these cute baby paintings of the House animals online.

Us too , nothing too kitschy ..(if a girl) We really like the idea of silver paintings of a Doe and a Buck hanging in the space .. I am looking for an old trunk like dresser or a distressed dresser I can add some latches and key holes to. I may craft a winged key mobile .. I really ought to get going on these projects

No theme for me, other than a color scheme. I found that by the time they are 2 they usually have an interest in something specific - cars, sports, animals etc. So, we stick to colors and then do a full room redo with big kid bed for the second birthday with the kids chosen theme. That way they get an exciting new room that grows with them and then we can sell them on big kid bed idea and get them excited to get out of the crib.
No theme here. We did navy/white for DD since we didn't find out. Her big girl room now is awash in pink per her request but this kiddo will be back in the nursery and reuse all of our original stuff.
You guys are too cute with your themes! I love the Harry Potter ideas.
We didn't do a theme really with DD, I just did a lot of DIY decorations like embroidery hoop decor and crackle painted shelving along with a twig mobile with tissue paper flowers and lanterns. I was on bed rest and did most of that on a tv tray while keeping my feet elevated, LOL. I'm not sure what we'll do for this baby and it will partly depend on if it's a boy or girl. We'll recycle most of it off its another girl I'm sure.
I decided to do an ocean theme room as I want to put an aquarium in the nursery. Plus our bedrooms are in the basement of the house and I really want to room to be a calming place. I don't think I'll do much on decoration but I am probably going to do a ombré paint effect. I think will be cute for a boy or a girl. I have always been calmed down my the ocean and since I'll be in the room a lot I want it something that I will enjoy as well.

Also going with a color scheme. Staying neutral with gray and white. I haven't decided whether I want an accent wall. I'm the handyman at home and I don't know if I feel like dealing with that hassle. Anybody want to paint one for me?
Sticking with a color scheme. We just moved and had the whole house painted. Since we don't know what we're having yet, the nursery is a pale aqua/sea foam color. I'm thinking I'll do white and orange accents if it's a boy and white and coral/pink accents if it's a girl.
Baby will be sharing a room with DS so if it's a boy we will stick with the newly decorated Viking/how to train your dragon room and if it's a girl we will do her side of the room with mermaids. On a side note: our guest bathroom is Harry Potter themed and it is the best!
We were originally doing music and then wanted woodland with the emphasis on bears. So now I'm finding all sorts of fun woodland animals playing music artwork and such.
My MIL bought me a really creepy circus themed mobile in primary colours.... its so dreadful and not me at all and only makes me think of psychotic clowns

I went with a green, jungle themed nursery for my daughter because we didn't expect nine years between siblings and thought we'd use it for the second because it worked for either a boy or girl. After 10 years hubby wants to keep the color the same (room needs to be repainted regardless) but I'm leaning towards warm brown tones and elephants this time. I'm just tired of the color after all these years and it's about the only room in the house we haven't changed the color to.
As of right now, we'll be waiting to find out the gender until he/she is born, so I've been trying to decide on a neutral theme. My husband and I both like this set and figure we can paint the walls afterwards once we know boy or girl. Do you think this would still be cute if we have a girl?
We've had the same pbk Eli's elephant bedding with light blue/light green 'theme' for going on 7 years now. I'm really hoping for a girl so I can change it up, but like others have said, by the time they are out of the crib they have their own interests. So we've just left that set in the nursery and done 'big boy rooms' when they are out of the crib.
We moved last December and are still figuring out the bedroom arrangements in our new home, so as of now all our bedrooms are a very light taupe. This little surprise has kind of thrown off or original plan, so I guess it's a good thing we never got around to painting anyone's room yet.
We are going to do an animal theme. We will be keeping it gender neutral since we plan on having more children and using the nursery for them, as well and moving this baby into his/her big kid room at that time.
Our whole house is painted a very light grey with white trims so rather than have a room that doesn't match we've decided to go with a grey yellow and white theme with lots of clouds and stars have already purchased a cute cloud clock and a yellow lamp can't wait to get it all set up
We are going to do owls. DD will be sharing her room with baby eventually, but she is also getting to the age where she no longer wants her girly princesses or fairies. We found a cute bed set in coordinating colors for her, then center the owls around those colors .
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
We are going gender neutral and I plan on using the book "the Giving Tree" for a theme. I just think it's the sweetest book ever. I found some cute ideas online.

I want to keep it gender neutral regardless of the outcome, but I want light grey walls, with white accents, and an accent wall with black birch trees (painted by my future MIL) and red butterflies dispersed throughout.
We are doing different colors of grey and some teal. I already have a tree painted on the wall in black and then our furniture is wood with accents of grey. Then once we find out the gender, we will add more pops of color depending on whether it's a boy or girl.
Those are all awesome ideas! We live in a tiny apartment, and will be moving (and buying a house) at the end of the school year. No decorations for us yet
Oh god, my house doesn't even have a theme. It barely has a color scheme! All the stuff for the baby is gonna be hand-me-downs, thrift store, stuff we already own but don't use... Trying to get through the baby stage without spending too much money unnecessarily, since I'll be stopping working.
Once the kid is more grown and can tell me what he or she wants, then we'll worry about a theme or decorating a lot.
We are doing black, white, and a dark ish purple with a subtle nightmare before christmas theme. So basically, the focus will be the colors, but we plan to throw random nmbc toys and decorations in that can be removed later if they want.
I have already started crocheting a Zero lovey and will be making a Jack rattle after that. Considering crocheting the mobile as well.

Since we are not finding out the sex until birth we are doing gender neutral colors of green, yellow, and brown. We already have the bedding and most of the room decorations.
Where did you find this? I love this! I just decided on elephant theme today. Hopefully the DH likes it! Haha! We already have the room painted an orange/peach. Keeping it neutral as we are not finding out the sex.

I'm another one going for a Harry Potter themed nursery for either gender. We're going to paint the room a blue almost slate color with white trim. The baby stuff will be owls and stars and mostly in a blue and yellow/gold color scheme (I'm a Ravenclaw, DH is Gryffindor). I'm trying to find wall decals of the moon and stars that aren't too expensive. I even have a friend of mine who, along with her boyfriend, are planning on making a 3D printed baby mobile that is Harry Potter themed, and they're planning on making it in a way that the objects can be toys later on. I already plan on painting my own little house paintings like those after I saw that picture on pinterest.
