Melting pot! Mmm...melted cheese. We figured that this is one place that we really can't take DD1 besides maybe a super fancy restaurant and I don't have the clothes for that. Depending what time we finish up we were thinking about bringing up all our Christmas decorations and maybe getting the tree up to surprise her in the morning. More likely scenario is picking her up on our way home, putting her back to bed, then collapsing into food comas

Mmm Melting Pot. I've actually never been to one, but I luuuurve fondue so I imagine it's amazing. And I'm so jealous of your date night. Usually when DH and I go out we are home my 7 because we are both so tired. Sometimes we do live dangerously and go to Target after dinner and stay out super late....at least 8:30.
The melting pot is so good! I love the chocolate fondue and the cheese, which is so good with that beer flavor in it. I don't even like beer but it goes well in cheese!

DH made his connecting flight after they gave him hell in the passport control for a missing stamp. He used the pregnant wife card and the lady stamped his passport immediately after time to make myself all pretty now lol

You guys are the best, seriously the poor thing was so exhausted from his long journey that he passed out. I'm listening to him snoring right now while he's hugging me in his sleep. LO gave him a good kick which he felt right before he slept and that made him so happy. I couldn't be happier

@elasticheart13 - Spent the day at work not bumping (a truly difficult task), and the thing that made it hardest was not knowing whether or not you guys had been reunited. So glad he made his connection and that he's safe with you at last!!!
I had my anatomy scan today. I have to go back because the baby wouldn't move positions, so the tech couldn't get all of the pictures she wanted. She didn't confirm whether everything looked good or not, and I don't know what percentile my baby is measuring in. Maybe it's because she needs to complete the exam first?
I wish though that she would've been a little more forthcoming with information. @kalanieileen ah man, that is annoying when are you going back for a new scan? I wasn't really told a lot, no weight or size or anything, but she did comment that everything looked fine. I can understand you felt panicked, but hopefully baby will behave next time!

Probably everything is fine... it's not that uncommon for babies to be uncooperative! When will the doctor get in touch with you? Hope you don't have to wait too long!

@kalanieileen legally (or at least procedurally) sonographers are not allowed to give any diagnostic-specific information after completing scans until the MD reviews anyway. I didn't know that people got scans outside of their doctors offices? Every time I have a US, I see the MD for an appointment, and it's all in the same office. Bright side - another scan just means another chance to see your little guy too! Hang in there.
@cmjenkies I've never had my ultrasounds in a provider's office. My current ob has a machine for a quick confirmation of suspected malpresentation, but they don't ha e a sonographer on staff, so anything beyond that is sent out. My two previous ob's were located within a hospital complex, so I usually got scans at the same time as an appointment, but that wasn't a given, either. And of course, when I saw a midwife, she had to send me to a freestanding clinic that would recognize her authority to order an ultrasound. That's the biggest reason I haven't selected a midwife for this birth yet... It's such a pain to have any testing done.
@mojomama6 I guess I've never considered anything else - I didn't know there was such a thing as a freestanding clinic (other than an elective place). My OB is part of a practice of around 8(ish) others, they have at least 2 full time sonographers on staff and like 4 private rooms dedicated to ultrasound in their office. Their office is in the women and children's hospital building on the floor below L&D. Appointments are booked separately for US and MD but always on the same day, back to back. At least that's how it has been for both of my pregnancies. I like that I don't have to wait around or go to other places tho. The only thing I had to do out of office last time around was the 3 hour glucose in a different hospital building.

I fee like if something were wrong they would have scheduled you right away. Not "they'll call within two weeks to schedule you". At least I've heard that with serious stuff, they respond with turn around time accordingly.

I can't decide if I want to get either a "New Baby" book for my 2 year old, a "Big Sister" book, or a "You're getting a little brother book." I don't want to get them all, but I want to get something that will best help her understand a new baby is coming. Anyone got any books for a 2 year old they'd like to recommend?

We have Caroline Church's I Am a Big Sister for our 18 month old and love it. It's in store at Target or I can post a few pictures if you're interested.

So of course I did the number one thing you shouldn't do, which is google it, and read about salmonella during pregnancy. Wahhhhh!

Also , I just found out that my son's preschool class is having a Christmas party on Tuesday and parents are invited. I hate to take time off of work because I just missed time last week due to a double ear infection, but I also don't want to be that mom that is too busy working to go to stuff at school. It really sucks sometimes being a working mom... I think I'm the only mom from R's preschool class that works full-time I REALLY don't know if I want to go back to work, but there are just so many variables and what-ifs and it's so scary. blah!

Don't worry, Salmonella is not super prevalent in this part of the world.
